Tower 28 Shine On lipgloss review

You know a product is a favorite when you use it up! Three years ago now I tried the Tower 28 Shine One lipglosses for the first time and I fell absolutely 100% in love with the one in Coconut. But they released new shades since I bought that and Sesame and Pistachio looked like shades I might like even more. That’s why today we are reviewing both of them.

The Tower 28 Shine On lipglosses are available in 7 shades. Since Tower 28 is a clean beauty brand, these lip glosses are free from many add ons. One of them is preservatives. That means you will have to bare in mind to commit getting as much use of these products once you open them, because they can expire quickly.

Review: Tower 28 Shine On Milky Lip Jelly in Sesame & Pistachio

These lipglosses retail for €19 a pop. They are now available through a few places, but I bought mine on Revolve. They do lots of clean beauty brands and it has been the easiest way for me to buy the brand. While €19 for a gloss may seem like a lot of money I also feel this is one of the most nourishing glosses I have ever tried.

What does this lipgloss have to offer?

The Tower 28 Shine On Milky Lip Jelly lipgloss is designed to give the comfort of a lip balm but the color and shine of a lipgloss. It is therefore the perfect hybrid lip product. I love wearing mine in the winter as it nourishes the lips well while adding a pretty my lips but better lip color. It is free from so many things which means if you have sensitive skin or if you avoid certain ingredients this may be worth looking into.

What do these look like in a swatch?

On the left we have Sesame and to the right we have Pistachio. Pistachio is described as sheer raspberry. Sesame is described as a sheer milky mauve. I don’t fully agree with that statement. On me Sesame is darker and looks more like a ripe fruit stain on the lips. While Pistachio is my perfect my-lips-but-better shade. I find that more of a mauve than Sesame and would categorize Sesame as a soft plum.

What do these color look like on the lips?

Here you can see what these look like: a soft focus, almost blurred yet shiny lip look that adds just the right amount of color. Sesame is a bit deeper and is in the picture at the top. Pistachio is softer and exactly the shade of my lips and is featured in the picture at the bottom. My most worn of the two is definitely Pistachio as it is my best everday lip color.

Should you buy the Tower 28 lip glosses?

Absolutely! If you haven’t tried them yet they are definitely worth a shot. I love wearing these because they really are that balm and gloss hybrid. Pistachio is my favorite of the two as it goes with everything. It is one of those shades I just throw on if I don’t know what to wear. Sesame is pretty too but it has more depth and mainly goes best with green or blue looks. It will be my goal to use up another one of these (probably Pistachio) in 2025 and buy it again when it runs out. That’s how much I love these.
