Did I need another mauve toned blush? Of course I didn’t. But if it means I can try some more REM Beauty then I most certainly do not mind. I have only tried a few things from the brand so far with the concealer being one of my favorites. But when they came out with powder blushes I was intrigued. This is my review for the REM Beauty Hypernova blush in the shade Rose on Mars.
This blush comes in 8 shades. Rose on Mars is the shade you see here. It is described as a soft rose, but on me it looks mostly like a mauve. It has pink as well as a touch of brown and purple. So this isn’t super warm toned nor is it overly cool toned. A great neutral in between shade.

As far as brands available at Sephora goes, REM Beauty is one of the cheaper ones. This blush retails for €22 which isn’t super cheap nor is it super expensive. But compared to other brands that retail from similar places it definitely costs less money. You can find REM Beauty in several places. I bought some products through Selfridges on trips to London, but the easiest way to buy them is through Sephora.
What does this blush have to offer?
This is a pretty pigmented blush. It has a satin matte finish that isn’t too matte or flat but very natural looking on the skin. It should give the cheeks a soft focus effect while still depositing enough product for a good blushed look. This blush is finely milled and easy to pick up with a brush. I find it can easily be a bit much if you overdo it so a little goes a long way.
What does this look like in a swatch?
Out of all 8 shades this is the one I knew I wanted to try. I may have found some stunning mauve toned blushes in my day but I can always try a few more to see if anything newer is better. This looks so beautiful in a swatch. It has full pigment but not unblendable. There is a subtle sheen to this and the shade is that perfect mauve in between shade that I love so so much.
What does this look like on the cheeks?
This blush has a beautiful effect on the cheeks. It is natural, gives a soft blurred effect and it just blends in seamlessly. I really think this is a pretty blush that lasts all day and looks stunning. Is it wholly unique? Not at all, but it is a solid pick. And compared to one of my fave mauve toned blushes (the PmG Divine Rose) this is an absolute steal as it is half the price.
Should you buy the REM Beauty Hypernova blush?
I think this is a stunning blush that goes with many different looks. It has a solid formula and it blends seamlessly onto the skin. The shade is pretty as is the formula. Is this a must have? Not really. But it is a beautiful product nonetheless.
