Glossier Cloud Paint Storm review

A classic liquid blush formula? The Glossier Cloud Paint. When I first set eyes on Glossier as a brand I couldn’t decide what blush shade to get. A lot of the line seemed to be pretty warm toned and many of the shades didn’t appeal to me. So I initially went for some other products from the range. Until they opened a store in London and introduced international shipping. Glossier is more widely available than ever before which gave me the opportunity to finally try the Glossier Cloud Paint in Storm.

In my review I am focusing on the shade Storm. I also own Whisp which I got later and like better. In fact, I nearly decluttered Storm as it is so similar to other liquid and cream blush shades I have. That said, I like the shade so much that I just couldn’t do it. If you find the Glossier Cloud Paints to expensive: MUA has a great alternative at a fraction of the price.

Because while the Cloud Paints are very nice, at a price point of €28 they are also a pricier product. However, these come with 10 mls of product, are available in 10 shades ever since they extended it and you only need a little bit. The pin prick of blush you see below is how much you need for both cheeks. So while this may seem like an investment at first, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

What does this product have to offer?

So the shade we are assessing today is Storm and I like Storm because it is such a universally flattering shade. It is one of the deepest shades available but as you can see: sheered out it works even for my pale face. The thing that sets this blush apart from others is how easy it is to work with. The packaging is cute and quite easy to use (just don’t squeeze too hard) and while you only need a little bit, you can easily blend and build it to make for a natural flushed look.

In a swatch you can see this is a soft reddish brown shade. The brand describes Storm as a warm rose, but I actually picked it as my first Glossier blush because om my skin it was the only shade in the original line up that pulled more cool toned. As you can see this has a touch of plum to it, making it perfect. It is that deep raisin like shade that anyone can wear: whether you have deep skin or fair skin, warm or cool. This will work for everyone!

What does this look like on the cheeks?

While the blush may appear intense on the back of my hand, here you can see how natural you can make this look. Of course if you like a stronger blush look that is also easily achieve but with a light hand and plenty of blending you can still create a very flattering, natural, flushed look. It wears well as it settles down so you do have to work with this quickly as it has a slight staining effect.

Should you buy the Glossier Cloud Paint in Storm?

As I mentioned I think the Glossier Cloud Paint formula is great. The squeezy tube is easy to use and hygienic. You only need a little bit so despite this being a high end product, you do get your money’s worth here. I liked Storm as a shade on, but as I have this shade a million times over I almost decided to declutter it.

What kind of irked me about the line was the lack of cool tones, but they have since remedied that by adding more shades. All in all, I think the Glossier Cloud Paints are a great product that definitely changed the game. You can however easily find more affordable alternatives now so you definitely do not have to spend this kind of money.
