Essence Blush Crush review

Essence Blush Crush review

Did Essence do it again? Yes, because Essence and blush have been doing good things for years and they are keeping that train rolling. What am I talking about? The new Essence Blush Crush that was launched for Spring/ Summer 2024.

This blush is available in 7 shades and I picked up two of them. Shade 30 Cool Berry is a lot prettier than I had expected. Shade 60 Lovely Lilac is exactly as expected. And the best part? The packaging is recycleable and the pans can be removed.

But we need to appreciate once more how affordable these are. In a time and age where everything seems to be getting more and more expensive, Essence manages to keep the price point manageable: at just €2.69 a piece these blushes have a lot going for them.

What do these blushes have to offer?

These blushes have a very soft formula which means there can be a bit of kick up in the pan but it also means they blend beautifully onto the skin. You can wear this sheer for a hint of color or build it up for more intensity. This product also aligns with some of the values Essence stands for: it is vegan and the pans are removable. There are some gaps in the back that will allow you to simply click it out of the compact.

What do these shades swatch like?

In the swatch you can see the difference between the shades very well. On the left we have 30 Cool Berry and on the right we have 60 Lovely Lilac. I was afraid Cool Berry didn’t look cool toned, but on the cheeks I find both shades don’t look as different as you might think.

Cool Berry is a neutral that goes with everything. Lovely Lilac is great paired with more cool toned looks. Both have the same lovely, soft formula that is easy to blend and stays put all day. I feel you have a lot of control with these and you can really build it up to your desired intensity.

What does this blush look like on the cheeks?

Here you can see both shades on the cheeks. In a close up the difference may not be too obvious but in a full face look (see below) you can clearly see how these do something different on the cheeks. Cool Berry is best for me to go with many different looks. Lovely Lilac is great as a lilac blush is hard to find at the drugstore and this is a great option for cool toned skinned people.

Should you buy the Essence Blush Crush powder blush?

I think Essence is killing it yet again. Their 2024 Spring/ Summer collection was an ace in the hole and this product is showing that as well. It isn’t a surprise because Essence powder blushes have been great for years but they are also doing some shades we don’t normally find at the drugstore.

So if you are looking for a blush on the cheap in more unique colors in a great blendable formula that last all day: look no further. The Essence Blush Crush is definitely delivering on all of the claims and then some, so definitely worth a purchase.
