One brand that had been on my to try list for years? Trinny London. This brand by the iconic Trinny from Trinny & Susanna is someone who I have been following for years on her Youtube on Instagram. And in 2023 I finally caved and tried two of the Eye 2 Eye in Chalice and Mystery.

I bought these products in store. There are a few Trinny London counters in the UK. The one in London is located in Fenwick department store near Bond Street. But the brand also has a website that ships internationally, so you could also shop the brand online.
Review: Trinny Trinny London Eye 2 Eye Chalice & Mystery
At €22 a piece these cream shadows aren’t exactly affordable but there are a few perks to these. The first perk is the packaging. The pots are stackable and have a very satisfying click to ensure you’ll always know exactly whether you have tightened the lid all the way.
What does this product have to offer?

Eye 2 Eye is a cream shadow product that comes in a range of shades. From everyday neutrals to smoky shades and there are also some shades that are more sparkly. The line therefore has something to offer for everyone. Mystery is a neutral shade and Chalice (seen below) is a smoky shade. I figured that I would get more of a range if I tried shades from different textures.
What is my experience using the product?

I really think the brand has found a niche market that is the busy woman who wants to wear makeup but who wants to spend as little time as possible on doing it. Mystery is a taupe shade (because I have to stay on brand) and Chalice is a deeper mauve shade. Both shades blend easily and wear well, but I wished Chalice had better pigmentation, though I get why that isn’t the case.
How do these eyeshadows swatch?

You can see here that Mystery is a bit more pigmented than Chalice. Chalice can be build up though to create more of a smokey effect and you definitely can intensify it more with a brush than with fingers. Used with fingers I find these can be a bit too smudgy and can end up everywhere. So apply with fingers first, build up the product and then blend with brushes. That is the best way to apply and get the desired result.
What does this look like on the eyes?

The result of putting both shades together is natural yet still defined. I used Mystery all over the lid and then used Chalice on the outer V and on the lower lash line. The result? An effortless slightly smokey eye and Chalice has a stunning shimmer to it. Both shades aren’t too sparkly on the lids. This means that even if you have very textured lids, this will look stunning.
Should you buy the Trinny London Eye 2 Eye cream shadows?

I definitely do not regret the purchase at all but I do find this expensive for what it is. I have some 3INA cream shadows that I bought around the same time that are better pigmented and are a bit cheaper than this.
That said what stands out here is the ingenious packaging design, the ease of use and the fact that this will result in a foolproof look every single time. Therefore I feel I may not be exactly the target audience of this product, but for the more mature guys and gals this is a stunning product to have.
