It has been ages since I last did a giveaway. I don’t do them too often, but I think it is time to give back. And for two reasons! On 4 September 2018, this blog, this little nook on the WWW came up on its 8th anniversary. 8 years! As if things could not get any better, I hit 1000 subscribers on Youtube last Saturday. So I felt it was time to organize a little giveaway to give back to all of you who have embarked on this journey with me and who are commenting regularly on my posts and videos.

So I say this every year, but when I started blogging 8 years ago, I thought I’d do this for a few months and then quit. I missed writing and I don’t know exactly how it happened, but I somehow kept going. I went through phases where I would write just a few posts a week, but I also posted content sometimes as much as twice a day. Over time, I settled into a daily post and that is what works for me.

Topics have changed to. I used to write a bunch of reviews of nail polish, concerts and lists of music I was listening to. But my tastes for blogging have changed. While I still listen to a bunch of much, visit concerts regularly and wear nail polish every so often, I just don’t like blogging about it anymore. So this has slowly morphed into more a beauty, fashion and book blog over time.

In the past couple of years, I also started making videos more frequently. At first I posted videos only sporadically. I started my current Youtube channel back in 2014, but it took some time before I would start making weekly videos. Since February I have been making 2 videos a week. My other social media outlets only get infrequent updates as I simply do not have the time to keep up with Instagram, Twitter and the like as all my time goes into making the actual content.

In short, I have been around for some time and it is safe to say that I will not be going anywhere any time soon. I am simply enjoying myself too much! Each comment, each like and each click on my content is amazing to me as I had never expected so many people to find me and like what I do. So here is a thank you to everyone who has been following me and investing a bit of time of their days to visit my little space on the web.

Why these prizes?

One of my favorite things in makeup is eyeshadow palettes so I had to give one away. The Violet palette is one that is totally on trend and actually one of the best palettes in the I Heart Makeup Chocolate Bar line. When I ordered that palette, I got the Bold as Brass palette as a freebee and found I had no use for it. So rather than opening it, I decided to add it to this giveaway and make sure it goes to a better home.

I knew I wanted to add a lipstick too. The lip balm is quite a nice everyday product that I think anyone would be able to get use out of. But I wanted to make sure this giveaway included some more of my favorites and since one of my favorite lipstick lines are the Urban Decay Vice lipsticks, I had to add one in. In the picture you see one of mine, but when you win I will ask you which shade you want and I will go to the store to pick you up that shade. There are at least 100 shades to chose from! So I’m sure there is a shade for you and they are cruelty free.
