Spring time is the perfect time for trying some perfumes. It should therefore come as no surprise that some of my all time fragrances are also perfect for spring. I have made a selection of 5 of my fragrances that I think are perfect for wearing in the spring time.
Favorite spring fragrances
Balenciaga Florabotanica – If I had to pick one signature scent that I could wear for the rest of my life, this would be it. That is a bold statement to make and for a long time I was very undecided on what kind of fragrance would be perfect for me. But then I found this one by chance. This one has a very minty, fresh top note to it, but when it settles down and works with your natural chemistry, it warms up and becomes a lot muskier. While that may seem like a weird combination, I love it. I like how it has an interesting scent to it and where I usually get bored with fragrances before the bottle is halfway gone, this is one that I used up completely and then repurchased.
Dolce & Gabbana Dolce – One of my current favorites is this very simple fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana. It is a floral fragrance that is still quite fresh. It is definitely very different to the first one as this doesn’t become as warm and musky after it wears down a bit. It keeps this floral, bouquet scent and it is a very light fragrance. It is an easy, day time perfume that I love to wear to work. This lasts all day on me, but I can also apply quite a bit of it to make sure that it does. Where some floral fragrances can be very heady, I find that this is a welcome exception to that rule. Nothing too special, but a great one if you want a simple, easy to wear fragrance that is not too overpowering.
Dior J’Adore – A fragrance that I have had for quite some time but that I no longer wear much is this one. It was one of the first more expensive fragrances I bought. And you guessed it: despite having had this for some time, I got bored with this one. I think it is one you smell a lot on many different people and therefore isn’t super special. I liked this back when I was very into a jasmine type scent, but as my tastes have changed, I have not been wearing this much. It is a great perfume for the spring time though as it also has an easy, simple freshness to it. Before I owned Dolce, this definitely fulfilled that fragrance’s function.
DKNY Pure – An oldie but goodie that I kind of rediscovered last year. This also shows you that sometimes, a forgotten love can come back on top. This is another easy perfume. I guess that is something you can say is a pattern to my favorite spring fragrance. I love wearing this fragrance when I am looking for something uplifting and comfortable. To me, this fragrance is like putting on sweatpants. It is soft, pleasant and easy to wear. I love wearing this to a dinner after a long day of work as it layers well with everything I put on in the morning.
Dior Miss Dior Cherie – Another forgotten favorite but nonetheless one I still like to wear from time to time. As far as I know I have the older version of this perfume. It has since been reformulated. It is a very girly perfume and therefore not one that I think really suits me anymore. It is also a very popular fragrance which means that you can smell this around you all the time. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I like wearing fragrances that I don’t smell on many other people. It’s probably why I fell out of love for this one a bit, but for spring it is a beautiful fragrance to wear.
