Just by looking around you, you can sometimes learn new words.
I came across this word when using the bathroom at the St. Andrews golf course I visited during the study trip and found it striking. A notice had been posted on the stall door asking ladies to put their waste in the ‘receptacle’. I nearly fell off the toilet laughing. I had never heard the word ‘receptacle’ before and quickly figured it would mean the waste basket/ trash can/ bin, etc. However, upon reading it the first time it just sounded like a new race of killer robot Transformer.
Call me silly, but I still think it does. Anyways, now I also have a good reason to post the original Transformers theme song. (Nah, not really, but I’m doing it anyway)
