What is more important: what makeup products you use? Or the makeup techniques you use how to use them? I would say it is the latter, however if you watch any social media you might think it is the first one. Why? Because the makeup industry pushes us to buy more and therefore as a community we are losing the knowledge to use what we buy. Instead, we just buy more. Is that a good thing to do? I don’t think so, so I wanted to create this video to explain to you why I think it is worth investing your time and effort into learning how to use your products rather than just buying more.
I was inspired to do this video by some comments I received recently. While I understand why people love the Blend Bunny palettes, my main critique of them has been: too big and too many mattes. Why? Because you can easily blend some of the shades already in the palette together and create the same looks you want without needing all those shades. The palette could be easily 1/3 to 1/2 the size and you’d still be able to create the same looks with it. However, we are led to believe we need 24 shades to do our makeup (the reality is we really don’t) and I don’t want my channel to just be: here, buy this and it will solve all your makeup problems. And I feel this is too often what we see on social media. So here is my video where I explain why investing in learning what works for you is far more important than what products you buy.
