Today we are reviewing the Etude Heart Pop Blusher in Lavender Snow. I have tried several products by Etude (then still called Etude House) and their Lovely Cookie Blusher in Ginger Honey Cookie was a firm favorite. Now that that line seems to no longer be as easy to get and the brand having been renamed, I wanted to try a new blush by them. Enter the Heart Pop Blusher. These are my thoughts.

The Heart Pop Blusher is available in 7 shades. There are matte options and some have a bit of pearl in as well so it caters to many different people. The packaging is a little less cute than the Lovely Cookie Blusher, but the heart shaped pan makes up for it. Lavender Snow is the lightest and coolest shade available: unlike anything I ever tried.
Review: Etude Heart Pop Blusher Lavender Snow
At around €8, the Etude Heart Pop Blusher isn’t a very expensive product at all. I’d say it’s quite reasonably priced and it comes in a some soft and pretty shades. It contains 4 grams of product, so that is a decent amount, also for the price point. I buy most K-beauty makeup on Yesstyle. With code FLOATDREAM23 you can get 5% off your order. The texture is soft and smooth and I was a bit worried upon seeing this how light it was. Will this show up on my skin? I mean I am fair skinned for sure, but this could be too light even for me.
What does this product have to offer?

I just love K-beauty for their solid formulas and cool toned shades. That’s why I wanted to try it. The formula feels very similar to what I remember the Lovely Cookie Blusher to be like, but mine got old and I had to declutter it as a result, so I no longer own it for comparison. It is described on Yesstyle as a blueberry with a white base. And I would agree: this is indeed a soft blue/ purple shade with a lot of white. Hence why I was interesed because so many brands do lilac or lavender shades but they always just look pink on me.
What does this look like in a swatch?

Swatched this looks like a very icy blue shade on my skin. This may even be too cool toned for me. However, I have found out that these shades while named a blush are often used as a matte highlighter as well. So if this is a touch too light for you, you could still use it as part of your makeup: either on the cheeks or as an inner corner highlight. The matte finish worried me a bit: would this be chalky? But in practice on the cheeks I really didn’t feel it looked weird or dry.
What does this look like on the face?

On the face this gives a nice bright, fresh look to my cheeks. The matte texture makes my cheeks look more even, almost like I have used a filer to airbrush them. It is a very subtle but pretty effect. Close up you can’t see an obvious blush shade, but you can see a bit more purple pink on my cheek than in the before picture above. Full face, I feel it brightens my face a lot, but I don’t think it necessarily suits me that well. It almost makes me look lighter than I actually am. That’s a first!
Should you buy the Etude Heart Pop blusher in Lavender Snow?

If you have super fair skin and you love a cool tone: give this a whirl. I am unsure how much I will be wearing this realistically. I like how fresh it makes my face look, but you can see that it has quite a bit of white in which makes my cheeks look lighter than the rest of my face. It’s not a bad look for sure, but I think this is even better for people who are more fair skinned than me.
Pros:
- Price point
- Unique shade
- Great for fair skin
Cons:
- This may be too light for you
- Strong white base could make it look chalky or ashy
- Matte finish
