How I afford being a content creator

I see a lot of discussion online about creators who seem to have lost the plot: they have become unrelatable, spend money they don’t have and overconsume products. In recent months, more and more pushback has started to happen against these creators. That’s why I thought I could share with you how I afford being a content creator. What goes into it for me, a small creator who is mainly here for vibes more so than doing content creation full time? And why you as a viewer hold all the power to decide who you make or break when it comes to relatability and more. Let’s discuss my makeup budget.

In this video there is a bit of a story time about me: why do I do things the way I do, what part of my upbringing has helped me in deciding how to manage my finances sensibly without going into debt and what choices have led me to being able to afford being a content creator? Answers to these questions and more is what you can find in this video.

Tea Time Chat // How can I afford being a content creator?

My three rules for content creation:

  • I won’t give in to hype or algorithms
  • I won’t go into debt
  • I won’t lose sleep

When it comes to budgeting I tend to use the money I make with the channel/ content creation and feed it back into what I do. That and I do get sent PR from time to time and that’s thanks to YOU my viewers. Without your support, views and purchases using my affiliated links I would not be able to do half the things I do. So thank you!

How do you decide what to splurge on and what to save on?
