In December I finally got around to trying the EM Cosmetics Pillow Plush Blush in Tickled. it’s one of those products I bought but hadn’t quite gotten around to reviewing yet and I felt that was criminal. Because doesn’t this just look like a great mauve toned blush option? It’s why I wanted to try it and ended up buying it. But so many products, so little time and so it fell a bit by the way side. Finally I managed to carve out the time to give it a proper review. Here we go!

The EM Cosmetics Pillow Plush Blush comes in two shades. Tickled is described as a cool toned mauve. So you knew I had to try it! This blush is a putty texture (been a while since I tried one of those!) and has quite a decent amount of payoff. It is matte as a result, but does have some skincare properties. It can be used with fingers or brushes: whatever you prefer.
Review: EM Cosmetics Pillow Plush Blush in Tickled
At $26 dollars this isn’t a super expensive blush and it comes with 4.5 grams of product. That is pretty standard for a blush. The biggest drawback for me is the availability of the brand. So far, EM Cosmetics has only been available through their official website which still only operates from the US. Buying from the EU can therefore be quite expensive with added shipping and custom fees. It’s why whenever I have purchased from the brand I have tried to buy a bit more in one go to make the purchase worth it.
What does this product have to offer?

My main reason for buying this blush was the shade description. Did I need it? No. I have plenty of mauve toned blushes but compared to all the mauve toned blushes in my collection, this is definitely a pretty one. It comes a gel a cream and a powder. The benefits of that is that you get the ease of application of a cream, the hydration of a gel and the finish and longevity of a powder. If you want a cream blush that lasts: this is a great option.
What does it look like in a swatch?

Swatches I do find this isn’t as cool toned as it might look in some of the images on the website and even while looking at it in the pan. If you have a very cool undertone, be aware that this could look peach or brown on you. On me it a more of a neutral pink with a hint of plum to it. But the more I sheer it out the less of plum I get. It does look very close to my natural lip color and natural flush so for me this shade is very wearable still. However, if you were hoping for a true cool tone this sadly is not that.
What does this look like on the cheeks?

While this blush doesn’t look that intense in the swatch., you can see this still packs a bunch and you can certainly build it up. The matte finish means this goes well with other cheek products and it doesn’t move your foundation around either. The matte finish makes it a bit tough feeling at first, which is why I apply this using fingers: the heat of my fingers makes it easier and creamier upon application.
Should you buy EM Cosmetics Plush Blush in Tickled?

I really enjoy this EM Cosmetics blush in Tickled and am happy to own it. That said, this blush isn’t a must have. There are other, similar blushes on the market that are more readily available. That said, the putty texture feels pleasant and I think that if you have oily skin this may be a cream blush that even you can use. So there are definite pros and cons with this one. But a true must have? Not really.
Pros:
- Putty texture
- Beautiful natural shade
- Longlasting
Cons:
- Availability outside of the US
- Not cool toned
- Best applied with fingers
