Catrice Aura Glam balm highlighter review

In the new Catrice Fall/ Winter 2025 collection update we will find not one, but two new highlighters. I already reviewed the first one, but today we are reviewing number two: the Catrice Aura Glam balm highlighter. This has been my favorite of the two new releases by Catrice and in this blog post I will try to explain why.

This balm highlighter is a great alternative to many more expensive glass like highlighter. Yes it is a balm, so with oily skin you may want to be careful with this, but my dry skin loved it. It is only available in one shade, but as you can see below it mainly goes on sheer, so it can be universally flattering on many different skin tones.

Review: Catrice Aura Glam balm highlighter 010 A Swirl of Rose

As with all the products I have been reviewing by Catrice so far, this is still affordable. With makeup prices going up continuously, I love how Catrice manages to keep costs down for consumers. This retails for just €4.99 which is peanuts compared to other products that have a similar effect. This reminds me a lot of the RMS Beauty Living Luminzer and similar products: a creamy highlighter formula that gives a natural glow to the skin.

What does this product have to offer?

This highlighter not only looks beautiful in the pan, it is also beautiful on the cheeks. This is a poured highlighter that looks like a beautiful marblelized swirl in the pan. With use that swirl does become less noticeable and you can see some obvious sparkles in the product. But those obvious sparkles do not show up on the cheeks. This also isn’t as warm toned as it might look in the pan. In fact, it goes on clear and just has a beautiful shiny finish without it being overdone.

Swatched on the back of the hand you can see the strongest effect: a beautiful pearly sheen with some sparkle, but smooth for the most part. The balm like texture makes this easy to apply and I was surprised when this didn’t break up my makeup underneath. Therefore, you can use this under or over makeup and it will still look stunning. This will also be beautiful if you love a very paired down makeup look and just wear your skin natural and want to add some extra glow.

I always struggle showing things off applied to the face with these balm like highlighter as they only show up when the light hits your face just right. You can see here that my makeup is still in tact and nothing has moved around at least. What I love about this is how natural it looks. If you watch any of the videos that went live in the past few weeks you will be able to see the effect more truthfully.

Should you buy the Catrice Aura Balm highlighter?

I think this highlighter gets the job done and more. This is beautiful, it’s cheap and it is easy to apply. Lasting power is great given the balmy texture: I had no issued with this product fading on my skin. Overall, I think this is another great release by Catrice and definitely worth it if you were looking to try something else when it comes to highlighters or if you just wanted to buy a new highlighter to begin with.
