Catrice Butter Like bronzer & contour review

The brand new Catrice collection came with some new cheek products. One of them being a bronzer & contour palette. The Catrice Butter Like bronzer duo is a great option if you want a one stop shop for your bronzer and contour shades. It is available in two shades and this is my review.

Of the two shades available I bought the lightest shade: 010 Born to Shape. The other shade was definitely too deep for me, but it will not be deep enough for many other people. In fact, I even feel this bronzer/ contour duo will be too dark for some as well. So with only two shades available it is a bit limited as to who can use these and find them helpful.

Review: Catrice Butter Like bronzer & contour 010 Born to Shape

This is a very affordable option. There are two shades: one warm and one cool and this only retails for €4.99. If the shades are right for you than this can definitely be worth it and it is out now at all places that sell Catrice. Mind you, this may only be out in Europe for now, but most of the time products are rolled out globablly in the next few months.

What does this product have to offer?

The name Butter Like is exactly how I would describe this bronzer: the powders are smooth and feel like a cream. The pigment is there, but the shades are quite light. Because of the soft formula you do tend to pick up quite a lot of product so this is best used with a light hand and a sheer blush application. In the swatch you can see these powders have a light glow, but once applied to the face these do not look shiny.

What does this look like on the cheeks?

This first picture is the effect of the warm toned shade. This has the most pigment of the two and definitely warms up the complexion. This is best used as a bronzer. Lasting time is great: this doesn’t fade throughout the day and it stays put. The only downside: the soft powder means my stipple brush leaves marks that I then have to blend out carefully to not have bronze colored dots all over my face. But once you get it there, it looks beautiful on.

What does the second shade look like?

In this picture you can see the effect of the contour shade. I like the look of both, but this one is definitely lighter and shows up less. In winter this will be stunning and it will work great if you have a cool undertone. However, the fact that this comes with both shades and you are likely to wear one more than the other, also makes this a bit of a superfluous product. Yes it’s pretty, but it is not a musthave.

Should you buy the Catrice Butter Like Bronzer & Contour?

This is a beautiful product and it is affordable, but it is not a must have. Yes if you are looking for something that doesn’t break the bank this can be worth it. However, there are many other options out there that are just as nice as this and at a similar price point, even by the same brand. So no, you do not have to run out and get this, but if you happen to need a bronzer and a contour and you don’t want to spend a lot of money, this can be nice.
