When I tried the Soft Pop blush stick by Makeup by Mario I loved what it did for my cheeks. But when I saw the brand now does a blush in the Soft Sculpt bronzer formula, I knew that it could possibly be the best of both worlds. I purchased shade Perfect Pink and today we are giving it a full review.
Of course I had to try the cool toned option in the bunch. Perfect Pink is described as a cool pink which is a breath of fresh air in a shade range that is mainly warm tones and mid toned. The shades are mostly quite light and seem very similar to many other blush ranges out there. But Perfect Pink was love at first swatch for me, so I knew this was the shade I had to try. Does it combine perfect color with a great creamy formula? Let’s find out.
Review: Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Blush Veil Perfect Pink
Makeup by Mario is not a cheap brand by any means. At €35 the Soft Pop Blush Veils are more of a high end blush option. It is available through Sephora of the official Makeup by Mario website. I got mine in store as I love being able to swatch things, so I treated myself to this when I was in Germany. It happened to be Black Friday so I even got some money off that day.
What does this blush have to offer?
This blush is described as a sheer formula with skincare properties like hyaluronic acid. It is a dewy formula that should help improve skin over time. I love that it is quite light and buildable, but like with the bronze you need more than you think you do for every application. Because it is sheer it can easily be build up though so you can definitely get more impact if you wish. But this is best applied with fingers, so you can build it up and you don’t distort the foundation underneath.
What does this blush swatch like?
In a swatch you can see how sheer this is. It is lightweight, creamy and quite silky smooth. It does settle down, but if you struggle with blush disappearing on your cheeks this may not be your favorite as it is quite emollient and doesn’t dry down completely. I have dry skin, so my skin loves a very hydrating cheek product, but if you have oily skin this could easily be too much. I love going in with two layers of this for the perfect application.
What does this look like on the cheeks?
On the cheeks the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Blush Veil looks very natural. Perfect Pink is a very beautiful shade that translates to a beautiful flush on my cheeks. This is great year round shade and it goes with nearly everything. Any makeup look is perked up by adding this pretty perfect pink. Longevity wise I feel it lasts all day, but I never have any issues with blushes fading or disappearing to begin with.
Should you buy the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Blush Veil?
I think the Soft Pop Blush Veil by Makeup by Mario is very pretty. The shade range feels limiting, but Perfect Pink is indeed a perfect pink. It is very pretty on, lasts a long time, yet is very creamy and dewy on the cheeks. For me it is a perfect natural blush look. I would recommend this if any of the shades are up your street and the shades will work for you. But don’t buy this unless this might seem worth it. It is not a mindblowingly innovative blush formula at all.
