Yes, skincare reviews are back baby! Well for the time being, because I haven’t been testing out too many new to me skincare products. I have been using things I know I love and that I know my skin loves, but for a few months now I have been using the COSRX cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence as part of my morning skincare routine and I have to say: I low key love this stuff! This is my review.
So a few years ago now I set myself the task to test out more K-beauty skincare. Toted as the holy grail of the skincare world I knew I wanted to test it out. But where to test? I soon found out that COSRX is a much raved around brand, so I looked into it and thought the Snail Power Essence sounded great. I have had good experiences with skin essences in the past as my skin is dry/ dehydrated and can be quite sensitive especially if it is not hydrated properly. So what I was hoping this would do was hydrate my skin to prepare it for the rest of my skincare routine.
Skincare Review: COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
I got my COSRX skincare from Yesstyle, but loads of places do it. On Yesstyle this now costs €30, which is more than I remember me buying it for. However, Yesstyle always does sales and offers, especially on their skincare ranges and so this currently retails for €21, which I think is a very reasonable price. I have been using this product almost daily for the past 2 – 3 months and I have only used up about half a bottle so far, so you get a lot of bang for your buck.
What does this product have to offer?
The COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is one of those products that you can use to replenish your skin after cleansing. It says to use a small amount, pat it in and then go in with moisturizer. I like to use this in the morning: I do a couple of spritzes on my entire face, go in my hyaluronic acid, brush my teeth to let those products absorb and then go in with my moisturizer. It has been working wonders. My skin feels hydrated and looks and feels plump.
What does this product do for my skin?
In the end, what matters most is what this product does for your skin. The main ingredient in this product is a snail essence which I hadn’t tried much before. It is meant to hydrate the skin and help with dryness. It should help with texture and hyperpigmentation.
After using this my skin feels more hydrated. It feels like a drink of water for my skin and my skin is parched, even on a good day. So this has been very helpful. I feel my skin always needs a layer of straight up hydration in the morning before going in with anything else and this has worked well. However, I have tried many other products that work just as well and I have found a hydrating spray at the French pharmacy that is far cheaper (more product for a lot less money) that I would like to try next.
Should you buy the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence?
So do you need this in your life? Not necessarily but if your skin is dry like mine this is a great product. The spritzer can be a bit aggressive if you use it directly on the face like I do, but I am pretty okay with this. Especially because I have been using this for a while now and it is still nowhere near running out is a good sign to me. These skincare spray like products can run out very quickly, but with this I feel you get a product that works and that is worth the money. So definitely worth a shot!
