We all know when ELF comes out with a new product it gets hype. At least by now it does. I believe ELF is one of the fastest growing makeup brands in the world and it is of course all due to their great dupes for higher end products. I personally love ELF’s products, but mostly the ones that aren’t straight up dupes and that don’t get much hype. Since I haven’t heard people rave about this liquid blush since its release, I figured it would be a great time to test it out. So let’s review the ELF liquid blush in Suave Mauve.
This liquid blush is available in 11 different shades and it ranges from warm tones to cool tones (there’s a lilac!), but most shades don’t run that deep. In face Suave Mauve is almost the deepest shade they do. So depending on your skin tone these may be great, but some may not be that great and what I wished this shade range had more of are some deeper shades like a dark cherry. The only shade deeper than this is a straight up brown. Not sure that will be to everyone’s taste.

We all know ELF is affordable, but not as affordable as they used to be. I remember the days when all they did were €1 and €3 – €5 items, but since they have been aiming for the higher quality makeup, the price has gone up accordingly. This blush retails for €8 without any discounts and that makes it an okay price point. It contains 4 mls of product and it is available from any place that stocks ELF, which by now is far more widely than it used to be.
What does this blush have to offer?
This blush is a liquid formula, which means it should give a dewy look, but that is still longwearing. It can be layered up to increase intensity and it contains skincare properties to help improve skin over time. This should blend easily and the round doe foot should make it easy for you to apply the product. This blush is recommended for all skin types.
What does this blush look like in a swatch?
My eye was of course immediately drawn to Suave Mauve in store. I love a mauve and this one is very pretty. It is a warmer toned browny nude shade, which I feel goes with many different looks. It is quite intense immediately so I do like to go in and apply it bit by bit and just apply more if need be. This wears great all day, even with the warmer weather we have been having. This stays put, does not smudge and still looks great after 8+ hours of wear on my dry skin.
What does this look like on the cheeks?
What I like about this shade is that you can adapt what it looks like depending on how much you apply. Full on? It looks like a warm brown. Sheered out? It looks more plum and the purple undertones come through. The result is a beautiful blush that for me goes with everything. This is one of those products that doesn’t look like much in the tube, but that performs as good as its high end counterparts once you put it to the test.
Should you buy the ELF Liquid Blush?
I think ELF has done it again and released another excellent product. It may not look like it dupes a high end product like their beauty wands do, but it definitely surpasses some high end products in the shade range and the way it performs. While I believe the shade range could be a bit better in the deeper end of the spectrum (and the cool tones of course I do think this is an excellent product that gets the job done. And I love how versatile Suave Mauve is. This is definitely worth your money?
