Yes, skincare reviews are back baby! They weren’t gone because I am no longer enjoying skincare, but because I wasn’t really into trying too many new things. I was just buying and using my old favorites like the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Baume for instance over and over again. But on a recent trip to Paris, I found a moisturizer I hadn’t tried yet and that I found intriguing. So let’s review the Toleriane Sensitive Riche moisturizer.

My main reason for wanting to test this out is simple: La Roche-Posay is one of my favorite skincare brands to use and it was one of the first brands I found where a lot of products just work for me. It’s what got me into skincare and the Toleriane range is my original favorite so I figured I could revisit it and try a product I hadn’t used yet. With only 40 mls in a bottle, there is less in most moisturizers and this is a thick formula, so sadly I used this up before I could swatch it for you.
Skincare review: La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive Riche moisturizer
My main reason for loving many La Roche-Posay products
Here to lend a helping hand to skin in need of some TLC is the Toleriane Sensitive Rich Moisturiser (40ml) from La Roche-Posay. The Toleriane Ultra Nuit is a longstanding favorite and I enjoyed the Toleriane range, because when I started trying skincare out I struggled so hard trying to find something that worked. Turns out, my dry/ dehydrated skin was also sensitive (I have never quite figured out what causes the sensitivities), so my skin would just freak out! And the Toleriane range was the only thing that worked for a long time.
This moisturizer promises to deliver 48 hours of hydration and is more like a thick cream than a simple moisturizer. Texture wise it reminds me a lot of the Cicaplast B5 Baume. This formula also inclused niacinamide which is a favorite ingredient for skincare so any product that includes that and promises to protect the skin barrier and I am game.
What does this product have to offer?

Here is the ingredient list:
Aqua/Water, Isocetyl Stearate, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Squalane, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Shea Butter, Glycerin, Propanediol, Cetyl Alcohol, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Glyceryl Stearate , Pentylene Glycol, Peg-100 Stearate, Niacinamide, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer.
For a skincare product that is a super short ingredient list. It seems like most of the product is water, squalane (another great ingredient) is high up the list as well as shea butter and glycerin. Those are quite typical moisturizing ingredients. The Niacinamide promised in the description is in the second half of the list, which is a shame because the higher up an ingredient is on the list, the more of that ingredient you’re getting. There is no way of telling whether this contains enough Niacinamide for it to do anything. There doesn’t seem to be any fragrance here though so that is a good thing for a product aimed at sensitive skin.
What was my experience using the product?
So yes, I have already used this up and it was gone in a jiffy. That is the only downside I have found with the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive Riche. The rich formula means that only a small blob is needed every time, but that small blob is so thick that you go through the product very quickly. To me, I am better off buying the Cicaplast B5 Baume: that is cheaper by almost half. That retails for around €10 for a similar amount of product, while this retails for more around €20.
However, when I was using this, I didn’t notice my skin being extra dry. I mainly used this as a day time moisturizer. I found it sinks in quickly, hydrates my skin and sits well under makeup. I do let my moisturizer absorb for 5 – 10 minutes before applying my makeup so that is probably why. I ended really enjoying this, but not more than an alternative that I like just as much and that is just a touch cheaper.
