Will this be the Fenty Beauty foundation that works for me? That is what we are here to find out, because so far none of the foundations and skin tints I have tried from the brand have worked for me. My conclusion up until this point was that Fenty was great as doing products for oily skin, but us dry skinned gals were being left out. All that changes with the Soft’Lit foundation. Let’s review it.

The Fenty Beauty brand is one that always intrigues me. They were the first to launch multiple undertones in their skin ranges and so I am always on the look out for what they are doing next. Because shade range wise they were like an oasis in a desert. But texture wise? Not so much. I tried the Eaze Drop and Pro Filt’r and both weren’t great. I got the Soft Lit in 125 which is the fourth lightest shade available and described as a neutral with neutral undertones.
Review: Fenty Beauty Soft Lit foundation in 125
Fenty Beauty is mainly available through Sephora, so they are a high end price grand. At €40 this foundation is an expensive purchase, but it isn’t quite luxury. I bought mine from Sephora in store, because with foundations I like swatching things first so I can decide on my shade match. Especially with 50 shades available I just can’t tell from an online swatch what may be right for me.
What does this foundation have to offer?

The brand describes the Soft Lit foundation as a longwear medium coverage foundation that looks glowy and looks fresh. It is a hydrating formula that improves you skin tone over time while saying in place. One of my main reasons for not loving the Pro Filt’r was how much it transferred, so this sounds like it could be the updated version of that. It is lightweight and gives a light to meidum coverage.
What is the shade match like?

You can tell from the swatch that this is quite a light shade and that is a rich and creamy texture with lots of shine. That’s been one of the reasons why I have been loving this. Another reason to love this? The shade match. Is it perfect? No, but shade 125 blends into my skin so nicely. And that is a good thing, because one shade down and up were both too yellow and the next shade down that is truly pinky toned was far too light. This may be a hair too yellow for me, but once applied it blends into my features very nicely.
What does this look like on the face?

On the face, the Fenty Beauty Soft’Lit foundation looks very natural. It covers what it needs to cover. It feels rich and creamy, yet it doesn’t crease and it lasts all day. The only downside I have found is that it remains feeling a little bit sticky throughout the day, but there is no transfer onto collars as much as with other things I have tried from the brand. The light reflective properties is what makes this foundation for me: it is glowy but without looking greasy and that is exactly what I am looking for.
Should you buy the Fenty Beauty Soft Lit foundation?

Fenty Beauth has hit it out of the park with this foundation in my opinion. It is longwearing as promised, has great coverage but without looking heavy or cakey and it has a gorgeous finish. On my dry skin this never accentuates any dryness and it remains looking great throughout the day. What’s more the shade is pretty much spot on for me as well and this isn’t even the lightest shade. So props to Fenty for making a great foundation that I know I will be using up at some point.
