One of the best eyeshadow formulas on the market in my opinion? The Victoria Beckham Beauty Lid Lustres. The formula are rich, sparkly and come in a bunch of fun shades. They are best used as the focal point of a look and I already owned and reviewed a few of the other shades. So I knew the blue shade in Midnight would probably be another great product for me to own. Let’s give it a full review.
The Lid Lustres now come in nine shades. They launched a new shade called Emerald last winter. So slowly but surely the shade range has been expanding. Midnight is described as a navy blue with a silver reflect. It has a fairly deep base and comes in the iconic tortoise shell packaging.

Let’s talk about price point first. Victoria Beckham Beauty is a luxury makeup brand so these products do not come cheap. I had luck and was sent some products in PR by the brand, but I have also bought things myself. Every year for Black Friday they have a 20 – 25% off discount and that’s when I buy these. Because at €44 a pop, I find it a bit expensive at full price. The best place to buy these is the official Victoria Beckham Beauty website.
What does this product have to offer?
According to the brand, these shadows are crystal-infused that have buildable coverage while being vegan and being infused with good for your skin ingredients. This is a finely pressed eyeshadow that has some of the most beautiful sparkle. Combined with a simple pencil liner to deepen up the lash line and this all over the lid you get an instant navy smokey eye. Use this smudged along the last line for the quickest easy eye look with high impact.
What does this look like in a swatch?
In a finger swatch you can see how this shade is a true shape shifter. Where the shade is more intense you get an impactful navy blue smokey shade. There is heaps of sparkle that when sheered out take over the look. If you apply just a wash of color this will be great for a more ethereal look. It therefore has a lot of potential: from day to night and from easy to full on glam, this eyeshadow can do it all just with an extra swipe of product.
What does this look like on the eyes?
Applied to the lids, you can see the shade really compliments my brown eyes. I love navy smokey eyes for that reason. I have paired it here with lots of black mascara and the Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal eyeliner in Navy Noir. The best navy smokey eye I have created in a long time. I would say this isn’t the best at blending into the crease so going in with bronzer to help blend the edges can be helpful. But that’s mainly because it is such a deep shade, not because of the quality.
Should you buy the Victoria Beckham Beauty Lid Lustre in Midnight?
While I love these eyeshadows and I think Midnight is one of the more unique shades in the line, this isn’t a must have for everyone. The price point alone makes this an indulgent purchase that won’t be right for each and every person. Is it beautiful yes? And if you were looking for a great navy smokey shade this is a winner for sure. But is it a just have? No I would definitely opt for one of the more neutral shades if it is your first one.
