La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 cleanser review

Looking for a gentle cleanser that has all the added benefits of the infamous La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 baume but that cleanses your face really well without stripping it? This would be the one! I love using this and that’s why I already used this up before I could even write the review about it. So here it finally is!

The Cicaplast B5 is a cult skincare product: affordable, easy to use and great for sensitive skin I have been using the moisturizer as a day or night time moisturizer and I have used up at least 5 tubes ever since. Every time I use it I love how my skin looks and it is a product I always have on hand. If I could choose just one moisturizer to use for the rest of my life it would be the La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 Baume. So when I saw they do more products in the range I had to try more. This is the cleanser.

Skincare review: La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 cleanser

At just over €10 at most places I feel this is a lot of bang for your buck. It comes with 200 mls of product which is a decent amount for a cleanser. I found it wasn’t the best at taking off makeup so I ended up using it as a quick cleanse in the shower and it worked really well. If you don’t wear much makeup, or if you want to use a second cleanser, OR if you like using a cleanser in the morning this may be a great gentle cleanser for you.

What does this product have to offer?

With La Roche Posay I know I mostly am on the right track. I love many of their products and so I hardly ever go wrong. The ingredient list is as follows:

AQUA / WATER • SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE • PANTHENOL • PEG-200 HYDROGENATED GLYCERYL PALMATE • GLYCERIN • COCO-BETAINE • SODIUM CHLORIDE • POLYSORBATE 20 • PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE • CITRIC ACIDv • COCAMIDE MEA • COPPER GLUCONATE • MANGANESE GLUCONATE • PEG-55 PROPYLENE GLYCOL OLEATE • PEG-60 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL • POLYQUATERNIUM-11 • PPG-5-CETETH-20 • PROPYLENE GLYCOL • PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS OIL / SWEET ALMOND OIL • SODIUM BENZOATE • SODIUM HYDROXIDE • ZINC GLUCONATE

What this promises to do is to have it be right for everyone. You can use this on babies and anyone with sensitive skin on both your face, but even on your body or scalp. It has a light foaming agent in it that cleanses but also doesn’t irritate or dry out the skin.

How did this cleanser work for me?

With a cleanser I am not that fussed with the ingredients: I am washing it off instantly anyway. So I don’t want it to be too expensive and I don’t want it to be a faff to use. I am not that demanding with my cleansers at all. I use them mainly to take off makeup though and this wasn’t great for that. It just wasn’t emollient enough, but for a quick morning or evening cleanse this was great. Where some cleansers can make my skin feel very dry and tuggy after use, this doesn’t do that. This doesn’t make my skin feel extra dry and I loved using it every time I took a shower.

Should you buy the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast cleanser?

I think this a great allround cleanser. If you wear lots of makeup like me, you may not love this, but this is a great one to try if you just need something to clean your face without stripping it from all of its natural oils. So this is definitely worth a shot if you are in the market for a good, no frills cleanser that gets the gentle jobs done.
