One reason to love Trinny London makeup is because it is easy to use and foolproof. The products are great for on the go, come in very handy stackable packaging and so it has everything you need for that busy on the go lifestyle. The Eye 2 Eye I already loved, but did you know the brand also does lip products in the same packaging? Here is my review for the Trinny London Lip Luxe in Pippa.
The Trinny London Eye 2 Eye products have quickly become my favorite one and done shadows. If I am in a quick I need to get something onto my face but without the hassle vibe I will just whack one on and call it a day. I was hoping the Lip Luxe would provide a similar experience. Available in eight shades with four neutrals and four pops of color this rich and creamy lip color seems to be a great option.

The Lip Luxe lipsticks retail for €26 at full price. As I am writing, there is a 40% off discount on these on the official Trinny London website so you don’t have to shell out that kind of money. And where I felt the Eye 2 Eye are well worth the money, this Lip Luxe I am a little less satisfied with. The best way to buy Trinny London is online on the official website, or like I did in a department store in the UK. Liberty’s in London for instance has a counter.
What does this product have to offer?
So Trinny London has two different lip formulas: the Lip 2 Cheek and Lip Luxe. Lip 2 Cheek is meant to be a sheerer more matte finish that can be used on both the lips and the cheeks. Lip Luxe is a full on pigmented lipstick in a pot that has a creamy finish. It is full coverage, has a rich and creamy formula and gives a satin finish to the lips. This is not recommended for use on the cheeks (but you can use any lip color as blush, it’s the oldest trick in the book).
What does this look like in a swatch?
I opted for the shade Pippa as I was drawn in by the deep blue toned red. It is rich and creamy alright and it is insanely pigmented. This is recommended to be applied with fingers but I don’t find that precise enough. I therefore just use a cheap lip brush with it that I already owned, but the brand does sell a separate brush that you can use to apply any of their products for €34. Wear time on this is solid as it is so pigmented. This will easily last 4 – 5 hours but may require a touch up after a meal.
What does it look like on the lips?
The day I swatched this my lips were quite dry, so excuse the messy lip look. That said, the color is gorgeous, I love the finish and once applied and dried down this doesn’t slide around. For a shade this intense that is a must. However, I dislike this as it is just not as easy to use as the shadows. Because this comes in a pot, you need a tool to apply it. My fingers not being precise enough to hit my cupid’s bow, I need a lip brush with this, which sort of defeats the point of the product. It is quicker for me to use a regular bullet lipstick.
Should you buy Trinny London Lip Luxe?
I think this product is objectively beautiful. The deep rich shade is the perfect tone for me and I love the look this achieves. It’s just a bit of a faff to use. Yes it is pretty, but I need a lip brush to get this to look good. And I am certainly not paying more than the product for the brush that the brand sells. That instantly makes this product even more expensive. While I love the idea, this lipstick, in this formula, in this format, in this shade isn’t the perfect on the go lip product I was hoping it to be. Will I still be reaching for it? Absolutely sure!
