You know a product is good when it wows you instantly. I have been reviewing makeup for nearly 15 years so nothing much wows me anymore. So for me to be this impressed with any product is a feat. But Catrice did it: Their Melted Sun liquid bronzer is one of the standout releases from their Spring/ Summer 2025 update and I love this things to bits.
This liquid bronzer is a new launch this year and it comes in 4 shades. 005 Tan Lines is the lightest one and it is actually quite grey toned. It is still marketed as a bronzer so it has some warmth as well, but this has been such a good one. A little goes a long way, it blends beautifully, doesn’t disrupt any product underneath and once it settles down it lasts all day as well. This has been a great find.
Review: Catrice Melted Sun Liquid Bronzer 005 Tanlines
We all know Catrice can sometimes be a bit pricey for what they are, but this product is definitely on the more affordable end even for Catrice. This retails for just €4.95 and I think it is absolutely beautiful. It is now more widely available in Europe as these products are now being rolled out, but it can take some time for these new bits make their way around the globe.
What does this product have to offer?
It is a liquid bronzer of course so it should give you all the benefits that a liquid bronzer has to offer: sheer application, easy to blend, natural finish and a soft, creamy texture that leaves a natural matte finish. You can easily build this up to the desired intensity and whatever level of bronze you’d like. This is also infused with skincare so it will help to improve you skin over time.
What does it look like in a swatch?
Swatched out this is by far one of the coolest toned bronzers I have found that doesn’t look straight up grey. 005 Tan Lines is THE bronzer shade for the winter. It looks stunning on the back of my hand and as it sheers out that greyish undertone really comes through. With a liquid bronzer I can sometimes struggle to apply it or they don’t last. But this one has no issues with blending and it lasts all day without fail.
What does this look like on the cheeks?
On the face this looks stunning. I apply some of the product to the back of my hand and then apply it to the face. A little goes a long way and it blends easily. It can be easy to apply a bit too much so I only apply a few dabs on the back of my hand to make sure I have the right amout. It diffuses easily and looks like a natural effect as if it was always there on my skin and combined with the new Catrice blushes that I will be reviewing for you soon, I feel it makes for a stunning combo!
Should you buy the Catrice Melted Sun liquid bronzer?
I think this is one of the best products Catrice has ever done. It is a great shade, but I cannot tell whether any of the other shades are as great. For fair skinned folks who struggle to find a bronzer that might work: you can certainly try this one out if you have been disappointed with bronzers in the past. This adds definition and warmth to the face but without looking muddy or overly done. The ease of use certainly helps with that. A great product launch from Catrice for sure!
