In 2024 Sephora relaunched their blush collection. These products were already around, but they revamped and reformulated. One of the shades in this line looked very promising and so I decided to test it out. It’s been years that I tried anything from Sephora collection (I used to LOVE their nail polishes) so it was good to dip my toe back into the line.

This range of blush contains 12 shades in total. In all the swatches online this looks like it is going to be purple or at least a lavender. Even the packaging seems to suggest that. It isn’t all that purple though, but it is still the coolest and lightest option in the range and I have been wanting to test out more cool toned blushes. Let’s find out how much I like this blush. Spoiler alert: I love it!
Review: Sephora Collection Colorful Blush 51 Trust Yourself
Sephora has its own collection in store and if you are familiar with their stores you will know that they are hands down the least expensive brand in there. I used to own quite a few bits by them back in the day when we still had Sephora, but I also feel the brand is a bit overlooked with everything else you can already get. At €13.99 this blush is not exactly as much as other brands in the store would charge you but it also isn’t drugstore pricing.
What does this blush have to offer?

While it had been some time since I last used a Sephora Collection product, I do hear people rave about some items in the line from time to time. These blushes were the first thing that really stood out to me, because they do some more interesting shades. It should be pigmented, while being very finely milled and give you good payoff and buildable color. It promises to blend seamlessly and it comes in both matte and shimmer finishes. Trust Yourself shown here is a matte.
What does it look like in a swatch?

While the swatches I had seen of this make it look straight up purple, possibly a bit more lilac I was a bit surpised to see it look very pink in the pan. It also looks very light so I was initially afraid is may not show up. But nothing could be further from the truth. On my skin tone I can definitely see a hint of purple and it looks a bit more lilac on the skin than it looks in the pan. It doesn’t have a very strong white base either so this doesn’t look ashy.
What does it look like on the cheeks?

On the cheeks this blush gives a subtle yet very pretty cool toned pink leaning look. It is more pink leaning that you might expect at first and paired with a bronzer and a highlighter I feel the purple undertone is counteracted a bit and lost. But this is super pretty on and very easy to use. The formula is super blendable and buildable, lasts all day without issues and I love how I can pile this on, get great payoff but still not look like a clown.
Should you buy the Sephora blush in Trust Yourself?

If you were looking for a good matte cool toned blush that is pink but with a touch more added interest than this may be for you. It may not look like much in the pan and the packaging is straight up boring, but it is a product that gets the job done. Often, especially in more affordable ranges, blushes seem to only be cool toned if they are a bright pink, so it is great to see some more pastel leaning that pulls more lilac than anything else. I felt it could have had a bit more purple in, but especially how light this leans is what makes this such a great option for my fair skin.
