You know how you sometimes try products and they instantly change your life? Doesn’t happen to me often, but when it does, I know there is no way back. That is what happened to me and this little mini lip kit from Pat McGrath. It was a gift so I have no clue if this is still for sale or how my friend got her hands on this, but it was a great way to try a Pat McGrath lip product and it made me fall in love with lip liner.
Divine Rose is a shade that is no stranger within the Pat McGrath line. A lot of the products are called Divine Rose: from eyeshadow palettes to blushes and lip products. I believe the lipstick is her matte formula and the lip liner is falling in a similar category of texture for me. Pat McGrath pulls quite warm toned overall on me, but this looked promising and it definitely can look cool toned with combined, but especially the lipstick by itself does not look that cool toned.

I have no clue what this would cost if you had to buy it today. As I said, it was a gift and I think it may have been a gift with purchase. I tried mini Pat McGrath lipsticks in the past but they weren’t that successful for me as they got a lot of bloom on them and that freaked me out of wearing them. These products still look fine even though I have had them for a while. It is safe to say though that if you could buy this today it wouldn’t be cheap as Pat McGrath is a luxury makeup brand that has a price point to match that status.
What does this product have to offer?
This little mini kit offers a lipstick and lip liner mini. Both in the shade Divine Rose. They are dinky, they are cute and it was a great way for me to try the Pat McGrath formula. The lipstick feels creamy, the liner glides on effortlessly. While both products have a good wear time, after a meal I would suggest it is time for a touch up.
What does this look like in a swatch?
I struggle defining the shade of this lipstick. It is a warm rosy pink but the lip liner looks a bit more purple and the lipstick looks a bit more peach. It’s probably why I like wearing these together more than I do wearing them by themselves. It’s the lip liner that was the game change for me: it is so easy to use and I liked the combination of the slightly darker lip liner with the lipstick and it made me want to try more.
What does this look like on my lips?
On my lips this combo looks great but I feel it pulls more peachy than mauve as I had hoped. Especially the lipstick has quite a bit of warmth. The lip liner makes up for it but overall I find it matches well with the other Divine Rose products in the Pat McGrath line. I am glad I got to try, but I do think I have by now found other lipsticks that I just like a bit better. The shade just isn’t special enough. If want a pink like this, I would opt for a Lisa Eldridge Shade like Velvet Rain over this any time of day and I am not a great lover of warm toned pinks on myself at all.
Should you buy the Pat McGrath lipstick and lip liner in Divine Rose?
As much as I appreciate that I got to try this lipstick and lip liner combo I do think this product duo has run its course in my makeup collection. The minis are cute but dinky and the shade wasn’t quite what I had hoped. I would love for a pink tone that is just a bit more cool toned than this. But is this a great quality product? For sure, if this shade is up your street I am sure you would love this Pat McGrath lip combo in Divine Rose.
