EM Cosmetics Color Drop Serum Blush review

One of my favorite liquid blushes? The EM Cosmetics serum blushes. These are dewy, blendable blushes that give a gorgeous glowy finish and that come in a bunch of shades. I already tried and reviewed some in the past for you, but Venetian Rose has to be my favorite. But will their coolest toned offering called Little Lilac be as good? That’s what we are here to find out in the review.

Little Lilac is a shade that was released a little bit later than the original drop and it is described as a lavender pink. It is the coolest offering of the 6 shades available. I have tried Cherry Splash, Venetian Rose, Rose Milk and Pink Nectar before this. The shades were all a bit warm toned for me and I found a cheaper alternative for those shades in the Apieu Juicy Pang blushes. But this cool toned blush color was still on the wishlist and I finally bit the bullet.

Review: EM Cosmetics Color Drops Serum Blush in Little Lilac

At $28 a pop these blushes are quite expensive. They were very innovative when they first launched but I feel you can get a glowy liquid blush from many brands by now. They have change the packaging since I last tried this and the dropper should now have been improved as well. I still find the packaging messy and cumbersome to use, but the shade of this blush: I have no words for it.

What does this product have to offer?

One reason why I love these is the dewy finish. A little goes a long way with these as well and you really only need a drop to get a great effect. It includes skincare like ingredients such as oils, ceramides and squalane to it isn’t just a pretty color it is also good for your skin. The website says the packaging now also holds more product than before and the brand recommends mixing shades together to get your desired shade.

What does this look like in a swatch?

You can see in this swatch how intensely pigmented and dewy this is. If you love a matte blush look this is not for you. However, if you have dry skin like me and you can use all the hydration you can get, this may be a good option. I was afraid the shade would just be a straight up pink, but this definitely has a purple base to it making it look more lavender than pink on my fair skin.

What does this look like on the cheeks?

On the cheeks this is an intense blush. I may have accidentally used a bit too much when applying it for the pictures. Despite the dewy formula this still lasts all day and I find the formula to be consistent with the other shades I have tried. But this has to be one of my favorites. Even on my cheeks you can still see that purple. Often times lilac and lavender blushes just pull pink on me, but here you can clearly see that purple undertone still even when sheered out.

Should you buy the EM Cosmetics Little Lilac blush?

I think this blush is beautiful and I still love mine. That being said I think if you are on a budget this may not be the best pick. I find that K-beauty brands offer a very similar thing at half the price point. So you don’t need to shell out this kind of money for a product like this. But is this pretty and does it offer something unique to my blush collection? For sure!
