One of my favorite one & done eyeshadows in my collection? The RMS Beauty eyelight in Strobe. This is a great taupe color that I have loved from the first time I tried it, but I just never got around to reviewing it. After raving about it for years, it is finally finally time to grace this wonderful product with a full review.
This product is available in 11 shades. Strobe is one of the cooler toned options. Most of them are quite warm and this is a beautiful shade but it still has a warm sheen to it. The brand describes this as a champagne mink: it has brown, gold and a lovely cool toned flash to it.

As far as affordability this product is not cheap. It retails for €32 but I bought mine as part of a set, so I didn’t pay full price for this. That way I felt it was worth it. I find most of my RMS Beauty products at Sephora, but they don’t stock the full line. You will have to go to more specialized stores to be able to view all the products and shades the brand has to offer. So they aren’t super widely available.
What does this product have to offer?
As you can see this has intense pigmentation and it can certainly be build up to have this beautiful shine. But on the lids, you may want to sheer it out first and build it up to get this level of intensity though. I like mine quite sheered out. This is supposed to be longwearing, creasefree and has some nourishing skincare like ingredients in the formula. The packaging is the only thing that sets it back slightly: it comes in a paint tube, which looks tube but also means you always get more than you would want.
What does this look like on the eyes?
While you can build this up to full intensity, I find that will lead to creasing on my type of lids (deepset & slightly hooded) so for me it is best to tap some on and then use a flufyy brush to sheer it out. The effect is a bronzy taupe effect that is very natural on the eyes. I just used a dense brush to apply some on my lower lashline and you can see in the full face pictures that it looks like I am wearing three shades instead of just one. A true one & done eyeshadow.
Should you buy the RMS Beauty Eyelight?
I think this product is absolutely stunning but I also find it expensive for what it is. I have definitely tried liquid and cream shadows cheaper than this that give a similar effect. So you don’t have to shell out this much for an eyeshadow. But with how pretty this is and how much I love using it, I cannot help but rave about this once more.
