Fwee Blusher Mellow review

Fwee Blusher Mellow review

What do you do if you want to try lavender blush? You don’t wait for all the Western brands to release but you go to the realm of the makeup world where lavender blush is already a staple: you go to K-beauty brands. And that’s how I found the Fwee Blusher Mellow in Icy Heart. Will this be my perfect lavender blush for my fair skin with a cool to neutral undertone? Let’s find out!

I can no longer find how many shades there were of this product as this packaging is discontined. However, there is now a dual version of this product that retails for the same price point. * The shade Icy Cupid in that seems to be the same effect as this gives. So you can still buy this style of product, it just is no longer available as a single pan.

Review: Fwee Blusher Mellow blush in Icy Heart

I thought this might be quite affordable as K-beauty can be. But Fwee is one of the more mid-price brands. So I bought this for around €15, which is what the new dual pan product retails for as well. I buy most of my K-beauty products through Yesstyle, but this is available through many K-beauty retailers.

What does this have to offer?

This looks like a powder in the pan, but it is more of a cream/ putty formula. So this is best applied with fingers. According to the brand this indeed has a dough-like texture with a cream to powder finish. It should stay put while giving a seamless blend. The payoff should be sheer but it can be easily build up to create a more intense look. And I would definitely agree: the formula here is great.

What does this look like in a swatch?

But what was a little less successful for me was the actual shade itself. I have not found many blushes that are actually too light for me, but this is a contender for getting that label. It has a pretty strong white base which I found showed up more on my skin than the actual lavender shade. It just didn’t work well for me as a blush. But the formula certainly delivers: this stays put all day and the formula is easy to apply.

What does this look like on my cheeks?

In this close up you can see that on me, the lavender shade is not that noticeable. It just makes my cheeks look white. And because this has a more matte powdery texture once applied it can’t even double as a highlight. But my best bet to use this if I want to continue using this would be as a matte highlighter. It works very well for that, but on my cheeks as a blush it isn’t quite what I had hoped it would give me.

Should you buy the Fwee Blusher Mellow?

I don’t want to say: steer clear of this one, because this isn’t a bad product. The shade just pulled a lot paler than I had expected due to it having a very strong white base. Can this still be pretty on some people? Yes I definitely think this may be right for people that even paler than I am. So there is definitely a market for this. But for me it sadly wasn’t quite right.
