Catrice Mystic Forest blush review

The best limited edition collection Catrice usually does? Their fall collection/ There is always something in those collections I love. The Fall in Colours palette was a hit a few years ago and this year I loved the Mystic Forest collection. My favorite product? Their new cream blush in Purple Touch. So that is what we are reviewing today.

This cream blush was limited edition, but I still hope Catrice will come out with a permanent cream blush because they really can do nice things. This colour is Purple Touch. There was one more shade called Red Allure, but that looked more warm toned. What appealed me about this one was the cool undertone.

Review: Catrice Mystic Forest cream blush 01 Purple Touch

One reason to love Catrice blushes? They are affordable! This cream blush retails for just €4.99 if you can still find it. Since this was part of a limited edition collection it may be difficult to find. I loved the packaging to this as well with the cutout details. And the shades were also something the brand hadn’t done before.

What does this product have to offer?

This is a cream blush, so what can we expect? The brand claims this is intensely pigmented, while still being blendable. It may be a cream but it should have a matte finish. The texture should be easy to blend and still last all day. The shade is quite deep but with a light hand I think this can work on many different skin tones, provided you like a cool tone.

What does this look like in a swatch?

As you can see here Purple Touch is truly is deep purple wine color. I haven’t tried such an intense shade from a drugstore cream blush in a long time. You can also see that this is not super dewy, but in fact a satin matte finish. It looks a touch patchy in a full on finger swatch but I found that tapping it in with fingers makes for an easy blush application.

What does this look like on the cheeks?

On the cheeks this turns into a strong cool toned pink shade. I find it definitely looks less purple. It is very noticeable but still very pretty too. I just keep tapping it into place for an easy blendable look. It has great longevity too. The matte finish means this stays put all day without fail.

Should you buy the Catrice Mystic Forest blush?

This blush is intense. It is pigmented. It blends easily and the shade is something different compared to so many other blushes I tried in recent years. Catrice therefore created a killer of a new blush product. So I really do hope they make this part of their permanent collection because this product deserves it. I would be able to rave about this even more if it were not limited edition.
