I love a good highlighter and I have tried some by K-beauty brands that I love. The Lilybyred Luv Beam Glow Veil was one I wanted to try instantly when I spotted the brand. It has cute heart shaped packaging and after trying a few products by them they quickly became a brand that I wanted to try more by. Let’s review this highlighter to see if it is any good.

This product is available in four shades. This is shade 02: Holy Beam which is a very light cool toned pink verging on lilac. I love a lilac highlighter especially in the winter time. There are many on the market and I have tried quite a few in my day. So how does this compare to other lilac highlighters I have tried? Let’s discuss!
Review: Lilybyred Luv Beam Glow Veil in 02 Holy Beam
The Lilybyred highlighters retail for €7.95. I get mine from Yesstyle. It is my go to place for all things K-beauty as they have a large selection available and shipping and handling fees are manageable. I also have an affiliate discount code with them: FLOATDREAM23, use it to get 5% on your order.
What does this product have to offer?

The Lilybyred highlighters have the best packaging on the planet. I love a good heartshape and it matches their cream blush packaging so you can see the consistency in the line. This highlighter is nor a cream nor a powder, but rather an in between formula. This should give a natural glow to the skin while having great blendability and no obvious shimmer particles. It is recommended to apply this product with a brush.
What does this look like in a swatch?

I love the shade of this product. It is intense, shiny and a perfect light pinky purple. Sadly it is not as intense going on with a brush. The formula is simply too thick to easily pick up with a brush and when I try to build it I move my base underneath rather than applying the color. With fingers this isn’t creamy enough to get a seamless blend. So as stunning as this looks in a swatch, it just isn’t great in how it applies.
What does this look like on the cheeks?

On the cheeks this product is barely noticeable. I have difficulty getting it to show up on my face. That’s strange because the finger swatch is beautiful, but with a brush which is how this product should be applied I can barely get it to transfer to my skin. It is almost as if the product just doesn’t want to lay down. So while pretty, this just isn’t very effective.
Should you buy the Lilybyred highlighter?

I love a pretty product, but while I am all for not judging books by its covers, this one sadly doesn’t deliver. As pretty as it looks both packaging wise and in a swatch, this product just isn’t effective. There is little to no payoff on the skin and it takes ages to build up. The cream to powder formula is just too stiff to pick up with a brush and difficult to blend with fingers. There are certainly better lilac highlighter out there.
