Pat McGrath Bronzer review

When Pat McGrath first launched powder bronzer I wasn’t sold. I spotted them in store, find that the lightest shade might actually be too light and that threw me off. But after giving it some thought for a few months I decided to cave and purchase it anyway. Because if a bronzer is this light I have to test it out obviously!

The Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Divine Bronzer in Naked Desire is quite possibly the lightest bronzer I have ever tried. To some people this will look like a face powder, but this comes in 8 shades which is more inclusive than many other bronzers on the market. So let’s review it and see how this went.

Review: Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Divine Bronzer Naked Desire

My one reason for doubting whether I should buy this was the price point. Pat McGrath as we all know is quite expensive. Paying €44 for a bronzer can be quite steep for many people. But I budgeted for this and decided to give it a whirl. I bought mine through Sephora but Pat McGrath is pretty widely available.

What does this product have to offer?

Not only is this light, this does have a bit of glow to it as well. This bronzer is recommended to be used to warm up the skin but also to add definition. The glowy finish should ensure this never looks flat and give your face more dimension. For me, this mainly feels like a very soft, easy to blend formula that I think will be great for when my skin is at its palest.

So where at first I thought this may be too light, I was surprised by how much color pay off thi sstill has. To me it has more of a satin finish than the glow the brand promises it to have, but that is okay for a bronzer to me. The shade pulls ever so slightly yellow and that in itself doesn’t have to be an issue because I have liked yellow toned bronzers in the past. This lasted well on my skin and it is super easy to blend. This never looked muddy.

What does this look like on the cheeks?

When applied with a brush, this sheers out beautifully, but on the cheeks here it is barely noticeable. But that’s sort of the point here. I can struggle finding a bronzer that I don’t have to blend more after applying it. With this, I can whip it on and not worry about it. So it is quite possibly the easiest to use bronzer I have ever tried. Does that make it worth the price point? I am not so sure.

Should you buy the Pat McGrath Divine Bronzer?

While this bronzer is beautiful and I can tell the formula is different from other bronzers I have tried, I still think it is expensive for what it is. I have bronzers from the drugstore that have just as light a shade that are even a better match for me that are a quarter of the price point (Kiko Milano Flawless Fusion bronzer) that I don’t feel this is necessarily a must have.
