When Whatsup Beauty contacted me last spring to see if I wanted to receive some of their product I obviously said yes! I had only tried their eyeshadow palettes up to now, but this PR gift gave me the opportunity to test out some of their other products. The highlighters is what got me first, so let’s review the Whatsup Beauty Serengeti Highlighters in Wild Acacia and Safari Sunset.

The Serengeti highlighter is available in two shades: one lighter and more cool toned and one slightly deeper and warmer toned. The lighter one is Wild Acacia and the darker one is Safari Sunset. But you’ll see below that the difference between the two is very slight. You definitely do not need both.
Review: Whatsup Beauty Serengeti Highlighter Wild Acacia & Safari Sunset
Buying these from Whatsup Beauty will cost you $34 per highlighter. You can also find Whatsup Beauty on Monolith if you are in the EU, because getting this shipped from the US could make it more expensive. You can get a 5% discount on Monolith with code _Maaike_5 on your entire order.
What do these highlighters do?

Well, they highlight the skin of course, but the packaging of these is what made me want to test these out instantly. Here you can see a closeup of Wild Acacia and just look at that detail! That embossing is so well done and intricate that you nearly do not what to use it. This is promoted as a naturally glowy formula with no talc. This should feel weightless and can be build up to increase the intensity. You can use each shade individually or you can blen dthem together.
What do these swatch like?

Bottom: Wild Acacia
The two highlighters have an impactful shimmer that looks glowy on the face. This lasts all day and is super easy to apply. In the swatches you can see that both shades have a cool and a warm shade that can be mixed. Wild Acacia is the coolest when mixed together, whereas Safari Sunset turns a bit more peachy when blended together. I used these highlighters mainly blended together as I found those the most impactful and give the best effect.
What does this look like on the face?

On the face these are very sheer and in some lighting you can barely see these. If you love impactful, shine from heaven style highlighter this will not be for you. However, if you love a more subtle glow than these are very pretty. These show up best when you move your head and look natural in many different lighting situations.
Should you buy the Whatsup Beauty Serengeti Highlighters?

I think these highlighters look very pretty on the face. However, I don’t think they are a musthave. While stunning, the formula nor the shades add anything super unique to my makeup collection and these aren’t anything different from other highlighters I have tried that I have easier access to. If these hadn’t been sent to me I probably would not have purchased these myself.
