One of the products I hadn’t yet gotten round to reviewing just yet is the Essence Juicy Melon Tint. This was launched as part of Essence’s Fall/ Winter 2024 collection. And while this in theory should work I was a bit let down in the end. Let me share my thoughts.
One of the things I feel sets this product back is the fact that there is only one shade available. While that may not be atrocious, this shade will not be right for everyone. So limit shade range: check. Now let’s get into how this product works.
Review: Essence Juicy Melon Lip & Cheek Tint
This being Essence, yes this product is cheap as chips. This means it really won’t set you back too much money if it is any good. At €2.95 this is very affordable and this product does work, so if this suits your makeup needs it really won’t be a bad purchase. I bought mine through Boozyshop, but you can find this at other retailers across Europe.
What does this product have to offer?
According to Essence this is a 2-in-1 product that can be used on the lips and the cheeks. It should react to your PH-levels and turn more pink as it warms up. It is quite sheer overall but it’s also quite stick so I didn’t love the formula as my hair would get stuck on this when it was on my cheeks. It is also scented, which really wasn’t a pleasant fragrance to me.
What does this look like on the cheeks?
So not only did this have a sticky formula, it also didn’t show up much. There is no picture here of what it looks like on my lips because you couldn’t really see it. On the cheeks there is only a very small difference between my cheeks with and without any product on it. To me, therefore, this product isn’t worth the effort.
Should you buy the Essence Juicy Melon Tint?
While this didn’t have the effect I wanted it to have, I cannot knock this down too much. This just does what it promises to do. It is a ph-reactive blush and lip product that smells slightly of watermelon. So if that is what you are looking for, this can be a good one, but for me I just wanted a little bit more pigmentation and a less sticky formula.
