Just when you find a good cushion foundation, you found out that it is out of stock. Story of my life, but the Moonshot CalmingFit cushion is definitely a good one so I don’t want you to miss out on this review. A great shade match, good longevity and comfortable wear, this makeup has been a great one for me, so let’s dive deeper into this product.
As with many K-beauty cushions this isn’t the best shade range available. It comes in three shades of which the one I am showing 101 Ivory is the lightest one. It is described as a pink ivory shade. That in itself is rare within K-beauty because very often things will be quite yellow toned. This is a great option for me as it pulls more peachy, but it isn’t cool toned or light enough for most people. Let alone the darkest shade being great for people with deeper skin tones.

When I ordered this from Yesstyle it retailed for around €15. It says currently that it is no longer available, but there are still some websites where it is stocked. So I don’t think this is fully gone as often times Yesstyle will just say something is unavailable when their stock is low, but this does not necessarily mean a product has been discontinued. I have good hopes this will become available again.
What does this product have to offer?
This lightweight formula foundation has a lot going for it. It has Aloe Vera extracts that calm, moisturize and soothe the skin. The skincare ingredients help hydrate the skin while wearing this all day. This is recommended for use with sensitive skin. It has an SPF of 50 but it is still recommended to use an actual SPF under your makeup as this will be too thin a layer to give much sun protection.
What is the shade match like?
This foundation has a pretty good match for me. It is a touch too yellow, but the sheer finish makes up for it. This look very skin like, isn’t too heavy and keeps my skin from looking dry and cakey all day. It wears well: even after a full day of wear this foundation still looks great. Also after a sweaty workout class.
What is the coverage like?
I don’t love a full coverage foundation and this is just right for me. I use a dab of the foundation on every area of my face and that gives a pretty sheer result. This looks natural and doesn’t emphasize dry patches so it stays looking fresh all day. I love that it has a slight radiance but isn’t overly dewy in its finish while covering up my redness just enough.
Should you buy the Moonshot Cushion foundation?
This Moonshot cushion foundation has been one of my favorites that I have tried so far. It will be difficult for me to rank these once I film my video later this month, because there were so many good ones in the end. I really hope this will be brought back, but of course the shade range remains a true challenge with any K-beauty base product, so if your shade isn’t available I wouldn’t fret and try to make this work.
