Glossier Cloud Paint in Wisp review

You know what sucks? When you find a makeup product you love but the shade range is just terrible. This was the case for the Cloud Paint by Glossier for years. The range pulled so warm toned that I initially skipped it altogether. But since then the brand has made up for it by releasing some new shades. Wisp instantly stood out to me as something I just had to try.

The Cloud Paint blushes now come in 10 shades of which I already owned Storm. It was the only shade available that looked remotely like it could work on me. However, Haze, Eve and Soar are all shades that I would like to try at some point. Wisp is described as a soft lilac which is very much on trend at the minute. Let’s have a closer look.

Review: Glossier Cloud Paint in Wisp

At €27 a pop these aren’t affordable per se. You can definitely get the look for less by looking into the MUA Blushed blushes. They aren’t shade dupes, but formula wise they are the same and a fraction of the cost. So you don’t need to buy this if you don’t want to. Glossier now ships internationally which makes it a lot easier to buy from the brand.

What does this blush have to offer?

The Cloud Paints don’t just come in blush shades, but also the newly launced bronzers fall into the same category. The brand describes these as seamless cheek colors that are easy to wear, apply and layer. This is most certainly the case but with these a little goes a very long way so you definitely don’t need much to make it show up unlike other Glossier products.

What does this look like in a swatch?

This shade is described as a lilac which is true but on my skin tone I feel it looks more like a blue toned pink. Most blushes marketed as purple or lilac do. This could look differently on other people if you have a different undertone. The shade blends into a thin even layer within seconds and the overall effect is quite matte and lasts all day.

What does this look like on the cheeks?

On the cheeks this looks like a pretty just in from the cold kind of blush. It’s not the kind of flush your skin naturally gets. I like to only apply a little bit of these, but you can easily build up the intensity if you want to get more color out of your blush. Paired with the right eye and lip color this looks stunning and it works especially well on me in the winter months when I go super pale and my skin can look almost translucent.

Should you buy the Glossier Cloud Paint in Wisp?

I don’t think this is a musthave as you can get the look for less, but Wisp is a special shade in my collection. Not many brands manage to do actual cool toned blush shades so this is definitely a keeper. I love the way this looks and since the shade is lighter I find this easier to manage than Storm. However, there are many more cool toned blushes nowadays so I don’t think you need to shell out this much money for a blush. That said, it’s such a pretty formula that I definitely think I will be picking up the other shades I am eyeing up at some point in the future.
