Catrice Invisible Cover foundation review

Catrice has a new foundation! And today I am hitting you up with my review. This is the Catrice Invisible Cover foundation and I wasn’t sure when I read the description whether I would like it. Longwear, matte finish and a medium to full coverage are usually not my preference but this is really really nice for what it is.

This is a new foundation, but it is replacing an old one: the True Skin foundation seems to have been discontinued and this is the updated version. This comes in 40 shades and I have shade 015W, which is a warm tone, which isn’t the best shade match for me, but it was all that was available when I bought this. I think 012C would have been slightly better for me.

Review: Catrice Invisible Cover foundation 015W

For a drugstore foundation this is still affordable. Where many shades are upping their prices majorly, Catrice is still quite managable. At €6.95 this is a price point that I think most people would still be willing to spend on a foundation and with this many shades available there hopefully is one for everyone. It may be difficult to find your shade though as Catrice tends to only be able to display handful of shades in stores and there are no testers for shades that are only available online.

What does this foundation have to offer?

As you can see in this swatch this is a medium to full coverage foundation. According to Catrice this has a matte finish and it is longwearing. It should still look natural though, even out your skin tone and the formula should be gentle on the skin. The formula contains hyaluronic acid and aloe vera to prevent from dehydrating the skin. And it does! This is heavier coverage I like to go for but I found that the level of coverage is manageable and adaptable and the finish doesn’t look super dry and cakey on my skin either.

What is the shade match like?

This is a close up of my neck. You can see where the overly yellow tone of the foundation ends and the pink tone of my neck starts. However, because the shade isn’t too dark, I can get away with this. Add on bronzer and it will blend more seamlessly down my neck and look okay. But again, I think one shade down would have been better for me and with 40 shades available Catrice finally does good undertones and there are 5 shades even lighter than this.

What does this look like on the face?

Coverage wise this has a high level coverage. More than I normally would wear. However, with just half a pump of product and spread out onto the face with fingers initially and then blended into the skin with a brush I still get a very sheer result. The matte finish doesn’t look super drying on my skin and I love how long this wears. I wore this too dance parties and dance classes and this was transferproof throughout sweating my bum off. So the longwearing claims are definitely true.

Should you buy the Catrice Invisible Cover foundation?

The Catrice Invisible Cover foundation is a great new foundation. I like it better than the original True Skin this is replacing but I don’t love it more than my favorite Catrice foundation: the Nude Drop Tinted Serum. I just prefer a lightweight and dewy foundation over a longwearing matte one. But this has everything going for it: it is medium to buildable full coverage, has a natural matte finish and lasts all day. A foundation that many people will love for sure.
