When Natasha Denona releases new products, I am all ears. Not that I have tried much from the brand besides eyeshadow palettes though. I feel that is where the brand shines and what gets the most hype, so it is easy to forget about the other products in the line. But the Hy-Glam concealer was one that intrigued me right off the bat and I can say: this did not disappoint.

The first thing that sold me on this? The shade range. Now the swatches and shade names are confusing though as there is no real rhyme or reason to them. A shade up can actually be lighter than a shade down. So go into store to swatch this to find your shade if you can. However, with 50 shades available there should be something here for everyone and shade R2 (Fair Light Rosy) seems to be my exact shade.
Review: Natasha Denona Hyglam concealer in R2
At around €35 for a concealer though this definitely falls into the luxury/ high end category. It comes with 7 mls of product which is not a lot compared to other luxury concealers. Those can be expensive as well, but as you get over 10 mls it is definitely worth the money. However, with this, the formula is what sets it apart.
What does this concealer do?

What drew me in with this concealer was the skincare qualities, dewy finish and the shade selection. This feels like applying and eye cream, not a concealer and this also promises to have skincare properties that should improve the skin over time. It is medium to high coverage concealer, but still hydrating and the shade R2 is perfectly matched for a brightened but natural effect on my skin.
What does this swatch like?

At first swatch this had me worried. It is so rich and creamy feeling that I was sure this would crease like no tomorrow. Fortunately for me, my dry undereyes love this formula. It does cause my mascara to smudge a bit but the creasing is minimal and I love how this wears. The rich formula means this doesn’t dry out my skin and a little goes a long way.
What does this look like on the face?

Coverage wise I think this is a medium to full coverage concealer. You can build it up but the rich texture means it is best to work in light layers. This doesn’t really set so I do use a light dusting of powder on top to make sure this looks its best for the longest time. The shade is great for me as it is bright but never too much. The slight pink undertone is something I haven’t found in many concealers in my day.
Should you buy the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam concealer?

This is a great concealer that has blown me away. A few reasons why this won’t be a must have for everyone are the price point and the amount of product you get. With just 7 mls for €35 (it’s even more expensive in some places) this can run out quickly if you use it everyday. And would it be worth the repurchase? It would be to me, but I can definitely see this is out of people’s price ranges.
So this is a lovely, be it expensive product, that does what it promises to do in a shade range that is one of the most inclusive ones I have seen. Definitely worth a shot if you were looking for a great, high coverage yet hydrating concealer.
