EM Cosmetics Baroque blush review

If there is one blush shade I love it’s a very natural, nude blush. One of my favorite nude blushes in my collection? EM Cosmetics Baroque. And to my surprise this has not yet been graced with a blog post review. So let’s change that and review this stunner of a product.

Baroque was one of the later shades that was added to this blush range. The range is being expanded on all the time and I saw they now even do a cool toned pink, which is great because the range was severely lacking a good cool toned blush. This is described as a burnished beige and I would agree that that’s exactly what it is.

Review: EM Cosmetics Heaven’s Glow Veil blush in Baroque

My main issue with EM Cosmetics though (besides the owner being a bit meh) is how expensive it is to get. This website is still only available through the US and while they ship internationally their shipping isn’t cheap and the products aren’t either. I did like that when I ordered with them this year, all the additional fees were already added at check out which made it a bit easier to budget. But at $34 this is expensive as far as blush goes.

What does this product do?

Is it a blush? Is it a highlighter? Is it a bird? This product could be all of that (except the bird of course). Because this is a very glowy blush formula that I just love precisely for that reason. This formula is the perfect blend between pigment and shine and has lots of finely milled ingredients to prevent this from looking glittery on the face. It is a baked blush formula which means this is easy to pick up to apply as well.

When I say this is a nude blush, it is a nude blush. But on the back of my hand you can see that there is this soft sunkissed effect to the shade. This neutral beige has a champagne shine and you can apply a small amount for more of a color effect or apply more if you want it to shine more. This is also one of those powders that has a more intense glow if you really buff it into the skin.

What does this look like on the face?

On the cheeks I love how this creates enough of a flush but without it being too noticeable. Yes there is color, but it kind of blends into your bronzer and marries your highlighter beautifully for a soft, diffused look that looks like you aren’t wearing anything at all. I love this for a bit of extra warmth if my looks asks for it, but it is a great allrounder too as this can go with any eye look you could wear. It is very complimentary and adds some color to your face without fighting any other products that may be on your face.

Should you buy the EM Cosmetics blush in Baroque?

I love my EM cosmetics blushes and I now own three of them! This was my second and while I wear it a little less I do think it is the most versatile shade if you have fair skin like mine.

If you have a deeper skin tone there are plenty of shades that could be better for you, but the website does show swatches on darker skin tones as well. This hopefully gives you an idea of what it might look like on if you’re in doubt.

Now that I know they do it, I am actually tempted to opt for the cool toned pink as I would love to see how cool toned it actually is. What do you think? Should I buy that cool toned pink?
