No I didn’t forsake my test of the 12 K-beauty cushion foundations that I started over the summer time. I just wasn’t wearing much makeup these past few weeks between traveling, a heat wave and being sick. But I still managed to try the Heimish Artless Perfect Cushion foundation. So le’ts give it a review.
And let me just come out with it straight of the bat: this is a good foundation. I loved the wear time, I loved the way it looked, I loved the coverage. The only problem? The shade. It is too yellow and the shade range is not good with only two shades available.

What surprised me was how much this foundation costs. Most of the foundations I got for this test are under €20, but this one retails for around €25 on Yesstyle, which makes it one of the more expensive foundations I try for this test. That said this does come with a backup compact which most of the cheaper ones don’t come with.
What does this foundation have to offer?
What I love about cushion foundations is how easy they are to use while not skimping on any of the perks of a usual foundation. This even comes with an SPF of 50 to boot. It has light to medium buildable coverage. It has anti-darkening agents in, it is supposed to have a pink undertone, that should oxidize for a more natural look (yes, that is actually in the description!). The finish should be dewy with a barely detectable look.
How does this product swatch?
So this product very much surprised me. The description made me feas how yellow and dark it would be but the finish is lightweight, thin and blends super easily. A little goes a very long way: I need just three dabs to cover my entire face and it just works. And the finish is exactly what I like: dewy, yet natural and it sits well with anything I put on top.
What is the shade match like?
The problem? This is far too yellow. Yes the shade works for me, but my cool toned skin just wants there to be more pink for a great blend. This is an issue I have a lot and the description saying this would ‘oxidize’ made me fear it might be too orange. But luckily the shade didn’t darken, it mainly just turns yellow. If this would be a pink rather than a yellow undertone I would like it just a smidge better but this is still great.
What is the coverage like?
My main surprise with this was the coverage. I am not a fan of full coverage but with a thin texture like this? It is wonders. Here I actually applied too much as I had too much on the cushion when I was applying it. But with a bit of a learning curve I have figured out the right amount and I still get this level of coverage: covering up my redness, dark spots and melasma with ease in one go.
Should you buy the Heimish Artless Perfect Cushion foundation?
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this foundation works. The coverage is great, while having a super thin formula. The finish is a lovely dewy satin making this look super natural. And the wear time is amazing. Even on a hot summer day this holds up well on my dry skin.
So yes, overall this is a great cushion foundation. But with only two shades available this will not be great for most people. I am lucky that the 21 shade isn’t too dark for me and the yellowness I can mask with the rest of my makeup done. But anyone lighter or much darker than me won’t be able to wear this as the shades just aren’t there. Such a shame with such a great product.
