When I was looking into what Korean beauty cushion foundations to try this Jung Saem Mool cushion wasn’t initially on the list. But to get all the products I wanted, it would make sense to through this in to have a few different price ranges as part of the review. So that’s why today we are reviewing the Essential Skin Nuder Cushion in shade 17 Fair Light.
On Yesstyle this is available in 7 shades. None of the shades are super deep, but there are different undertones and there is even a shade lighter than this. I opted for 17 Fair Light as I am somewhere in the 17 to 21 spectrum for most K-beauty shade ranges. Fair Light is described as great for fair skin with a neutral undertone so I figured this would be nice for me. And while I can make it work, this sadly is a touch too yellow for me.

Jung Saem Mool is a higher end K-beauty brand. It was started by a famous K-beauty makeup artist of the same name, but all the products in the line are more like MAC prices whereas most of the K-beauty brands that I have tried are more drugstore like in terms of price point. This foundation retails for nearly €30 and it does come with a refill.
What does this cushion have to offer?
This foundation is award winning apparently and is meant for dry and combination skin. It is long-lasting while giving a dewy glow, a natural coverage and correcting the skin tone. This claims to be infused with powders to help with longevity and color correction. So all in all an interesting product that sounds like it will be nice for me. The shade 17 Fair Light is a touch too yellow as you can see here.
What is the shade match like?
While the shade 17 Fair light is definitely light enough, you can see here how it doesn’t quite blend into my skin. Despite this being described as a neutral undertoned foundation, I feel this isn’t necessarily as neutral as it seems. I would call this warm toned. Can I blend this down my neck? Sure and it still looks great. It definitely covers up my redness and I think the promise of a longwear hydrating foundation is definitely delivered upon.
What is the coverage like?
So the best way to apply this is by using the application pad that comes with it. That will make it easiest to create an even layer of this product. I blend it down my neck to make it less obvious how yellow this is, but the yellow undertone makes it great at covering up my redness. So coverage wise this is even more than I would normally go for, but it still looks very natural on. My eyes are a bit red here as I had just taken off a full face of makeup and it irritated my eyes. That’s not down to the foundation in case you were wondering.
Should you buy the Jung Saem Mool Cushion?
I think this is a very solid pick in terms of formula from any of the cushions I have tried so far (and we are halfway through). This is longwearing, it never looks dry or cakey and it’s pretty full coverage. The yellow shade can work for me in the summer time and when I blend it well. That said, the other shades are all quite light and therefore I don’t think this will work for everyone. For me, I am glad I got to try this and I will certainly go back to it at some point to use it up, but it is not my favorite for sure.
