A brand that I like, but because it is difficult to get and expensive to buy, I do hold back on shopping through there too often. I decided to purchase some bits again last spring after not having shopped through EM Cosmetics for 2 years. Let’s try some new products and we are first testing out the So Soft blush in Venetian Rose.

I already tried this blush before. That time I tried it in Lychee, but the peach tone made it too similar to other things I already owned so I decluttered it. After tossing it, I realized I had been too strict in the declutter as I loved the formula. So when I decided to buy from the brand again, I bought it in a different shade. This time in Venetian Rose and I like this so much better!
Review: EM Cosmetics So Soft cream blush in Venetian Rose
EM Cosmetics certainly isn’t cheap. At $30 and only available through their US website, this brand would do well to become available through a European retailer. However, that is not the case. And while $30 isn’t cheap to begin with, the added shipping & handling fees are absolutely killer when it comes to shopping this brand. That’s why I don’t do it too often and wait until I have enough products I would like to try.
What does this product have to offer?

The So Soft blush is described as a soft and airy texture that is blendable and melts into the skin. The name is no joke: this is very rich, creamy and soft and a little goes a long way. It can get messy quickly due to the soft formula that blends easily onto the skin. It has a dewy finish that sets down and there are skin conditining ingredients like squalane and vitamin E to prevent drying out the skin.
How does this blush swatch?

While soft and blendable these blushes really don’t do under in the pigmentation department either. These have a rich pigment, which means you only need a little bit for the best result. The soft, creamy formula makes this super easy to blend and while dewy, this does set and therefore lasts all day on your cheeks. Venetian Rose is described as a vintage rose shade and I wished I had purchased this one the first time round.
What does this look like on the cheeks?

The resul tupon application is super pretty to. The soft formula looks very intense in a swatch but when using fingers the application becomes very natural and skin like. This looks like a very beautiful natural flush. It is exactly the kind of color that my skin turns when I blush when I am not wearing makeup.
Therefore this goes with my complexion very well, much better than Lychee, which is pretty but just a bit too warm for me as that is a peach coral. Venetian Rose is a warmer dusty rose shade, but there definitely is a level of cool tone in this as well that makes this sheer out less warm toned and more pinky plum on my complexion.
Should you buy the EM Cosmetics So Soft Blush?

I certainly learned my lesson with this one: there is a reason why vintage rose/ dusty rose and mauve tones suit me so well. It perfectly mimics my natural flushed look and therefore these shades go with everything makeup wise. That’s why I like this so much and I really enjoy owning this in my collection.
However, is this worth the price? At $30 with 8 grams of product, this may not be a good value for money for everyone. Especially if you aren’t in the US, this can become a pricey venture and there are definitely blushes from other brands that give a similar effect. So a necessary purchase? Not at all, but a fun one and I just love this formula to pieces.
