It is summer and that means that I am loving my sheer washes of color and easy one and done eyeshadow looks again. When temperatures rise I don’t love wearing too much makeup and so I love keeping my eyemakeup simple. A great product for this is the Glossier Lidstar liquid eyeshadow. I have mine in the shade Fawn and this is my review.

The Glossier Lidstar is available in 8 shades. Fawn is described as cool smoky taupe with pearl that reflect gold and lilac. So a great cool toned eyeshadow that sheers out beautifully and therefore a great one and done eyeshadow. Do you have to spend this much money on a product like this? No, but this certainly is a nice one.
Review: Glossier Lidstar liquid eyeshadow in Fawn
When it comes to liquid eyeshadow I feel there are a lot of products out at different price points and I feel the affordable stuff is just as good as the more expensive things. At €25 this is on the more expensive end of what you can pay for a liquid eyeshadow.
What does this product have to offer?

Glossier Lidstar is a liquid eyeshadow formula that is sheer but has a soft pearl effect to it. It is self-setting. This means this can be used without a primer underneath as they adhere to your lids and therefore they can work well as a base or one & done eyeshadow. This can be difficult to build up to full intensity though so be aware that this is meant to be a soft wash of color with a glistening effect rather than a punchy in your face eyeshadow color.
What does this swatch like?

In a full on swatch, you can see that this starts off opaque but then turns into a sheer wash of color as you blend it. It sheers out beautifully and I feel it looks more sparkly as you blend it. The color of the shade Fawn is a taupe shade but it definitely has a purple undertone to it once sheered out. It is a great cool tone and one and done shadow for my lids for sure.
What does this look like on the lids?

Here you can see what this looks like on the lids. You can see that the color is less intense than in a full on swatch but it also doesn’t disappear completely. This is great for travel as the packaging is slim and easy to use. The wand is a bit weirdly long which makes it a bit awkward to hold. That said, this indeed sets in place and I love using this if I want something quick and foolproof that lasts all day.
Should you buy the Glossier Lidstar in Fawn?

I really like this product but I definitely dont’think you need to shell out this much money for a product like this. Essence Luminous Eye Tint in Shimmering Taupe will give the same effect at nearly a tenth of the price. So no need to spend this much. That doesn’t mean this isn’t a good product, it’s just a bit expensive for what it is. If you don’t mind that this can be a great liquid eyeshadow for you to use.
