You may wonder: hey Maaike, didn’t the Stellar Love collection come out for Valentine’s Day? Yes it did, but this highlighter is still available. That is the good thing about Kiko Milano: they tend to keep things on their website until they truly sell out. So very often, even with their limited editions, if things don’t sell out, they keep selling it. This means we can still have a closer look at the Kiko Milano Stellar Love liquid highlighter.
As mentioned this highlighter is not part of the regular Kiko Milano line. Kiko Milano releases limited edition collection ever 8 weeks or so and they usually do a special edition for Valentine’s Day. This year’s collection was called Stellar Love and it has great products in. Review: Kiko Milano Stellar Love Radiant Liquid Highlighter in Astral Light
This highlighter comes in two shades and Astral Light is the pinky peach version. At €12.99 for 5 mls of product is a decent price point I feel. However, I also know that if limited edition products don’t sell well, they usually go on sale as well. So I think it will only be a matter of time for this to go down in price. What does this product have to offer?
The Stellar Love liquid highlighter was instantly one of the stand outs of the collection for me. I know I love a good Kiko highlighter and this liquid version is no exception. What makes this product work is how easy it is to use. This isn’t super in your face, but more of a subtle highlight. It blends seamlessly and just gives a very natural glow. I also love the shade: a pinky peach is exactly what I like wearing most days.
What does this swatch like?
As you can see here this highlighter has a very smooth texture. I even dare saying that this is slightly hydrating and I feel this can be worn by itself on no makeup makeup days and of course over makeup as well. It is subtle but when you blend this out it is barely detectable on the skin with just a slight sheen that shows up when your face hits the light. The doe foot makes it super easy to apply as well and this takes literal seconds to get the desired look.
What does this look like on the skin?
Here you can see the before and after. As you can see this highlighter definitely brightens the face. There seems to be a slight removal of the product underneath but I don’t find this fully lifts off my foundation and concealer either. So maybe don’t apply this with a brush or a sponge but like I do with fingers for the best effect. The shade may look a bit warm in the swatch but I find it works really well with my undertone and looks seamless on the skin and lasts all day.
Overall I think the Kiko Milano Stellar Love highlighter is another great Kiko product. It does everything I need it to do and it is easy to use to boot. The shade is perfect, the blend is seamless and the effect is natural. This is the effortless highlighter I wanted it to be and it certainly lives up to my expectations. I would highly recommend you try this.
