A few months ago I decided that I wanted to revisit cushion foundations again. So I decided to do some research and buy some to try for a review. Only to find out a happy coincidence: cushion foundations are currently all the rage. What’s more the Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion is one that went viral just as I was ready to put my plan into motion. So I knew I had to make it my first review. This is in shade 17C.
Originally the Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion didn’t come in very many shades as most K-beauty products do. However, due the popularity on the Western market the shade range was extended and that is a good thing. Because I love this foundation to pieces, except for the shade.
Review: Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion foundation 17C
First things first the Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion is available in two sizes. The full size which retails for €25 on Yesstyle and a mini that is €10. The difference apart from the size is the available shades. The three shades the mini comes in is far more limited but since I was going to be trying out a bunch of these products it was perfect for me to give it a try without wasting the product. The full size comes in 30 shades.
What does this product have to offer?
Have you ever tried a cushion foundation? If not then it may be good to know that it works a bit different to most foundations. Instead of a bottle with a pump this comes in compact with a saturated sponge and you use the applicator to pick up the product and dab it onto your face. That way of usage is important for getting the right amount of product and the best result.
This particular cushion foundation is part of a line of cushion that come in different finishes. There is a sheer version, a dewy version, a matte version and this one: a full coverage, satin finish foundation that should last a long time. It should be sweat proof and transfer proof while having good for your skin ingredients in.
What is the shade match like?
As I already mentioned this foundation is not a great shade match for me. In most K-beauty BB creams I can get away with shad 17C or shade 21. 17C in this case is a bit too yellow and oxidizes the minute I apply it into a slightly deeper shade. So I would have been better off with a lighter shade but those didn’t exist when I placed my order for this. Still, once the rest of my makeup is done, this isn’t even the worst looking shade on me so I can make it work.
What is the coverage like?
As you can see here, the foundation has a lot of coverage. While this is something I normally don’t go for, I do not mind it with this. Because while this has high coverage the formula is still thing and hydrating. When I wear this I don’t even need concealer to cover up any leftover redness.
Another positive here is indeed how long this lasts. I can wear this all day and it still doesn’t show the regular signs of wearing down like other foundations. I wore this out dancing and to a workout class and it was still on. Even on my dry skin, this never look dry or cakey, nor did it accentuate my dry patches.
Should you buy the Tirtir Mark Fit Red Cushion?
I can fully understand why this went viral. This is a great foundation. The shade I bought isn’t great for me, but the product is A+++. If you want a longlasting, natural looking foundation with high coverage that still looks like skin: this is certainly worth a shot. With the extended shade range I think it will also be great for more people to look into this. There are three even lighter shades than this one and of course there are plenty of deep shades as well. Truly worth a shot if you haven’t yet.
