I love a good drugstore concealer but they don’t always hit the mark. This was the case for the original Camo Concealer by ELF. It was far too thick and drying for my dry and more mature skin. So when the brand released a hydrating version I knew I would have to try it. This is my review

One thing that is great about the ELF Hydrating Camo concealer range is the shade range. This comes in different undertones and each undertone has enough shades ranging from light to dark. I got Fair Beige which is described as a fair concealer with neutral undertones. There are two even lighter shades and the total line has 25 shades.
Review: ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer in Fair Beige
At just €7 this is a great price point for a concealer. It comes with 6 ml of product which is a standard amount for a concealer. You can get ELF a little bit more easily now but my favorite way to buy the brand is still through their official website as that has the widest product selection.
What does this concealer have to offer?

This concealer comes with a giant doe foot and is described as a full coverage concealer with a satin finish that can be used by dry, oily and combo skinned people. It should be longlasting, easily cover up blemishes and dark circles, all while boosting up the hydration of your skin. The formula is lightweight, blendable and crease free.
What does this look like in a swatch?

My main issue when I tried the original Camo concealer was that it was far too heavy for my skin and I kind of feel about this one too. A little goes a long way and while the richer creamier texture works better with my skin type this can still look a touch dry after a full day of wear. It isn’t as dewy as I’d like and I am also not super into full coverage either. If you love a full glam look I think you’ll like this one!
What does this concealer look like on the face?

Here you can see what I mean. This is high coverage and if you apply too much it can be difficult to make it look natural. I really only use the littlest of product for the best result. Blending it with a brush is fine and I indeed experience little to no creasing even if I wear it all day and wear it working out. So I like this a lot better than the original ELF Camo concealer and I think this a great concealer by the brand, just not perfect for me.
Should you buy the ELF Hydrating Camo concealer?

The ELF Hydrating Camo concealer is a great product just not perfect for my personal makeup preferences. I do like it enough to keep it in my collection though as this does work and I think it is good to have some ELF products around in my makeup collection.
I think this product is better for people who love their coverage, who want it to last while not being creasy and who like that full glam look. Since I love a more natural look with a dewy finish this isn’t perfect for me, but still a good one that can really see you through and of course there is that affordable price point which definitely makes this worth it.
