One of my favorite drugstore brands? Kiko Milano for sure. This Italian makeup brand is one that I have easy access to (they have a store in town) and they are fairly affordable. What’s more, much of the high end and luxury makeup products we know and love are made in Italy and I have a sneaky suspicion that Kiko may be manufactured in the same place as some of these much more high end brands. So if you are looking for luxury on a budget I feel Kiko Milano is your safest bet. Let’s see if the Kiko Milano Unlimited Foundation fits in that line of thought.

First things first: the Kiko Milano Unlimited foundation comes in 25 shades. That is more than many other Kiko foundations I have come across and it is what made me want to try it. This is a longwearing foundation and 1N is the lightest shade available. Kiko and undertones is usually not something I feel they are good at either but for once I feel this foundation doesn’t pull overly yellow on me.
Review: Kiko Milano Unlimited Foundation 1N
One thing I love about Kiko Milano is their price point. They are more expensive than some drugstore brands but with drugstore prices going up I feel they hit that perfect mid range of quality products at a cheaper price point than high end. While the €15.99 this foundation goes for may seem like a lot of money, the brand does regular sales and that’s when I usually pick up stuff from their website.
What does this foundation have to offer?

While I was happy to try a new to me Kiko foundation, I kind of knew going into it that it wouldn’t be my perfect Kiko Milano foundation. That title still goes to the Instamoisture Glow foundation.
But I was pleasantly surprised how this wore on me and what it felt like throughout the day. This foundation has a longwear formula with a natural matte finish. My dry skin usually doesn’t love longwear and matte, but this went surprisingly well. It could be because this promises a natural look all day without the caked up makeup effect that is suitable for all skin types.
This is transferproof with buildable coverage in a creamy formula that is easy to apply and can be used with fingers, brushes or a sponge depending on your personal preferences.
What is the shade match like?

While the swatch on the back of my hand made me feel nervous for this one, on the face I was pleasantly surprised. The shade match is spot on and this blends into my neck beautifully. While this has a matte finish I feel that if you go in with a light layer this never feels thick or cakey on the skin and applies easily. The coverage is easily adaptable and you can apply more in areas that you feel need more coverage. I only use a light layer to get the skin-like effect I prefer.
What is the coverage like?

While I was afraid this would be thick and cakey on me, I feel this is a longwear foundation that gets the job done. Now that I have worn it consistently for a week I can safely say that I think this may be a dupe for the Armani Luminous Silk foundation with is one of my longwear favorites. This just doesn’t have as an extensive shade range as that has.
Coverage wise I like how lightweight this is but still providing enough while letting my skin’s natural imperfections shining through. I think this foundation can appeal to a lot of people. Because it is buildable from a medium to full coverage and because it has a formula that will allow many skin types from dry to oily to use it and get the wear out of it, I feel this can be a good universal allrounder.
Should you buy the Kiko Milano Unlimited foundation?

Is this foundation exactly what I am looking for in a foundation? No, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a good one. I feel this is a great allround that can appeal to many different people with many different skin types.
The formula is creamy yet thin and easily applied. It blends in beautifully, lasts all day and never looks cakey. So what’s not to love?
Even though this comes in 25 shades there are so many midtones and not enough on the lighter and deeper end of the spectrum, let alone enough undertones. 1N is swatched and listed as the second shade but it is lighter than 1R. There is an attempt here at undertones, but it is far from perfect. Because if I am a match to the lightest shade that means that whole hosts of people will not be able to find their match in this range.
