I love a good cleansing oil and the Florasis one was sent to me in PR to try together with some other products. It took me some time to really get a chance to test it out, but since then I have decided to stop using this. Let me tell you why.

I showed you all the products I received in a haul last year, but this one I had yet to review as I was in the midst of another cleanser and I cannot change up my skincare too often. My sensitive skin just doesn’t allow it so I have to stick to products longer before I can try out new ones. So while this review is late, it is for good reason.
Skincare review: Florasis Botanical Hydra-Soothe Balancing Cleansing Oil
Now that I am reviewing this, I can no longer find this exact bottle on the website. There is a travel size available at €25 for 14 packages at 3 ml a piece. I think that is quite expensive and I found that with this you only need a little bit every time you use this. Because the packaging cannot be resealed after opening it can get messy and a bit cumbersome to use.
What does this product have to offer?

This cleansing oil offers an oil consisting of plant oils and floral extracts that should be great for double cleansing and make it is easy to remove makeup. It can also be used for a deep clean, but do not leave an oily residue behind. The formula should be great for sensitive skin and contains no added parabens or fragrances. The main ingredients are jojoba oil, squalane and olive oil.
What is this product like on the skin?

For me personally I found the floral scent far too strong. Even though there is no added fragrance in this, I still found the scent too overpowering for everyday use. I only needed a little bit of this every time to remove makeup but I felt it wasn’t the most effective cleanser I have ever used, leaving residue behind. Especially waterproof mascara was a product this cleanser found difficult to remove.
But what made me stop using this in the end was the fact that my skin started to feel dry over time. I used this cleanser for 4 months, had only used about a third of the bottle, even with consistent use and I found my skin not feeling its best. It took a while for me to figure it out but I changed cleansers on a whim and within a week my skin started to improve.
Should you buy the Florasis Cleansing Oil?
While this is a nice product that has good ingredients, to me this only worked in theory. I think if your skin is less sensitive and less dry I think this may work for you. If you don’t use waterproof mascara this can also be of use. However, for me personally it wasn’t what I had hoped and both the formula, scent and the way I had to use it eventually put me off from using it up fully.
