A face mist may not seem the most essential part of your skincare routine, but I love using it as a first step of hydration before I start applying the rest of my skincare. It is a quick and easy way to get some initial ingredients in and adding a thin layer and with my dehydrated skin I find: layering is key.

I bought the Holika Holika Good Cera mist from Yesstyle to try together with a bunch of other K-beauty skincare products. I wanted to try some Holika Holika as I like their makeup and so I wanted to see what their skincare would be like. Let’s dive in.
Skincare Review: Holika Holika Good Cera Super Ceramide Mist
As mentioned I bought this through Yesstyle as it is easiest for me to buy K-beauty products through there. This retails for around €16 which isn’t the cheapest face mist I have tried but also not the most expensive. So a good mid range product that if it does what it promises to do will be a winner in my skincare routine.
What is the promise?
Every skincare product comes with promises so let’s find out what it is for this one. This is a ceramide based formula that is great at hydrating skin. I love ceramides as an ingredient in my skincare as I have dry/ dehydrated skin. My skin can however also be quite sensitive and prone to reacting so any skincare product I try is a gamble.
This product promises to moisturize skin, relieve dryness and protect your skin barrier. With some fruit extract thrown into the mix it even promises to smooth wrinkles and gently exfoliate the skin.
The ingredient list
Here is the ingredient list:
Water, Methylpropanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Amaranthus Caudatus (Love Lies Bleeding) Seed Extract, Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil, Glycerin, Diphenyl Dimethicone, Triethylhexanoin, Decyl Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Bacillus Ferment, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Alteromonas Ferment Filtrate, Ceramide NP (7, 600ppb), Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Glycerylamidoethyl Methacrylate/Stearyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Ceramide AP (55ppb), Cholesterol, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Ceramide EOP (0.1ppb), Phytosphingosine, Ethylhexylglycerin
Something that stands out to me immediately is that the ceramides that the name suggests are in here are all the way at the bottom of the ingredient list. So while this is promoted as being a ceramide product, there is more fruit extract in here than there are ceramides. However, I also tried the COSRX Ceramide face mist and that also had the ceramides all way at the bottom of the list.
What has my experience been like?
I have been using the Holika Holika Good Cera face mist for a few months now. It is no where near gone but I have used it enough to give it a review. And I like this product but I would say I like the CosRX one more. The spray nozzle on this is a bit finicky and it easily gets stuck. I also don’t like that I can’t see how much I have used of it, but then again that isn’t the deal breaker.
I just feel this hydrates my skin less than I would like it too. I need a lot of this to make it feel like my skin is moisturized and hydrated before moving on with my next step. When this first hits my skin it feels a touch dry. Formula wise I just don’t think this is really adding much to my skincare routine. I like it enough to use it up, but it won’t be a repurchase for me.
