My search for the best new concealer is still going strong and in April there were two on my list to review. The first one is a luxury option: the Gucci Concentré de Beauté in Fair 17W. Gucci is a great brand and I want to branch out and try more and felt their concealer was a good next step.

My main motivation for trying this concealer was the fact I already loved their lipsticks. I tried two shades from every lipstick line they have to offer and loved all of them. So it is only fair I try more from the brand and when they launched their concealer I knew it had to be this product that would be my next Gucci purchase.
Review: Gucci Concentré de Beauté Concealer Fair 17W
At €43 this is a pricey product though. Sure, it is a luxury brand but the packaging of concealer hasn’t really changed and no matter what brand you buy a liquid concealer can come only in so many versions. So while this looks pretty with the gold lettering and floral cap it doesn’t look luxurious. Still the formula most certainly is, here is why.
What does this concealer have to offer?

This concealer is available in 25 shades that come in different undertones. It has a lightweight, easy to blend formula with buildable coverage. It is a longwear formula that contains skincare ingredients to prevent dryness and cakeyness. The claim on this is that with prolonged use it should even improve the look of your undereyes.
What does this look like in a swatch?

So the formula of this is lovely. It is thin and blendable, yet still give coverage. It doesn’t look streaky on and it lasts all day. Still I was discombobulated by the shade range. I went with 17W Fair even though W stands for warm and should be for warm undertones. However, I felt while swatching that this shade was closest to my skin tone and had more pink/ peach to it than the neutral range which pulled very yellow on me. The shades labelled cool toned were completely off, so this was my closest match.
What does this look like on the face?

If you think that there is no product in picture two: that’s how lightweight this is. It is barely detectable on the skin yet it still evens out my under eyes, makes them look brighter and covers up my dark circles. I love how seamlessly this blends and how lovely it looks all day.
Should you buy the Gucci Concentré de Beauté?

This concealer is lovely but do you need this Gucci one if much more affordable options can be just as good? No you do not need to spend this much money on concealer. It is one of the few ‘base’ products I feel you can definitely buy cheaper.
My main issue with this concealer is the confusing shade range that is different in the description from how it applies on my particular skin tone. That said, this is a really good concealer that I feel has something that I have only found in high end and luxury concealers: a super thin, natural formula that blends well yet still has the coverage I need.
