How do you feel about color correctors? I have tried some, but have never found any that were super successful for. Many times I have found they just don’t work with my skin tone and undertone. So how did I fare with the Erborian CC Red Correct?
This product is available in two sizes: 15 ML and 45 ML. I bought the smaller size as I have too many foundation like products as is and this way I could try it without adding bulk and a better chance of using it up. It comes in just one ‘skin-adapting’ shade. So this will not be right for everyone. The question is: was it right for me?
Review: Erborian CC Red Correct Skin Perfector
Is it a BB Cream? A foundation? Or a CC Cream? The Erboria CC Red Correct is a bit of all those products. It has skincare products, is a corrector AND it has coverage. So it is a product that can do a lot and this small size retails for about €20 which is a reasonable price just to give it a try to see if you might like it.
What does this product have to offer?
So yes, this essentially is a green color corrector for the face. This should camouflage redness while also having coverage. This should adapt to your skin by correcting the skin color and the green shade should disappear as you blend it in. It also contains centella to help the skin and it is recommended to only use a light layer for the best effect. I would also recommend working this into the skin with fingers as the warmth of your fingers is the best way of breaking up the green pigment and getting to the skin tone color underneath.
What does this product look like on the skin?
The day I took these pictures I was dealing with quite a bit of redness in my face, and you can see how easily this is covered up. Was this due to the green pigment? I don’t think so as the green shade very easily disappears as you blend it in. The color it turns into is a touch too yellow for me, but it does look nice once all my makeup is done. It has exactly the kind of coverage I like, but if you want more coverage this will not be enough for you. Due to the green pigment, this is not a product I would recommend you try building up.
What is the shade match like?
Despite the fact that I didn’t do a great job blending this out evenly, you can see this product is too yellow for me. This picture pretty much taught me that I should be more careful with blending this in for a better look. While the green shade definitely disappears, it takes a bit of blending for it to get to that level, which is probably why I ended up with such and obvious smear. That said, I didn’t notice it in real life, but only once I put this close up picture on my computer.
Should you buy the Erborian CC Red Correct?
I do really enjoy this product but I also believe this isn’t for everyone. It only has one shade that is far too yellow for more cool toned skin tones and anyone deeper than my complexion will not be able to pull this off.
Wear time on it is great: I took this with me traveling and it lasts all day with no powder and long days out and about. I love how I don’t need a brush to apply it and it is just an easy grab and go product.
While this isn’t perfect by any means, I know I will be getting a lot more use out of this, because I think this gives me exactly the effect I like in my foundation like products. I just need to be mindful of blending it in more carefully than I did here.
